Dana Point Harbor Inn, Dana Point

I stayed here with my family in early May and we really enjoyed it. The rooms were a great size and it was nice that there was a vanity inside and outside the bathroom. The staff was really nice and friendly. All you need are the basics and the hotel has everything you need at a great price. The beach is right across the street and the harbor is down the street a little. There is a ton of food places around the corner. This place was great and I plan to come back. Before I booked I called them and told them about their bad reviews, the girl on the phone was really nice and explained each one and what happened. I came for myself and had a great stay.

We stayed one night at this hotel recently. The only thing I did not like were the beds, They were way to firm for me, but other than that the room was spacious and clean, parking was not bad at all, the staff were very friendly. The price was right for what we wanted so not bad for under $80. What impressed me the most was I made an error on my date of arrival and they fixed it with no problem especially when I marked the day i made the reservation instead of the date I really wanted so it was a happy ending. It was my fault to begin with they were so nice about it.

$90 in this area was a great deal no matter how the rooms turned out. The fact that this place had friendly staff, was clean, and had great parking was a bonus. Very nice rooms for the money even if a beach wasn't right across the street. As I said before staff was very friendly. We left some personal items behind and realized it halfway to San Diego after checking out. Called them up and asked if it was possible to hold them for us for a few days until we were on the return trip. They came through with no problem, and were very efficient and friendly with retrieving our items. Great location, many restaurants nearby to suit your need, and great service at the inn. I'd definitely stay there again...

This property is definitely not worth the rates they charge. It is old and the rooms are pretty run down. Everything there is very basic - the decor, towels, toiletries, pool, etc. It was moderately clean, but again, very basic. Stay across the street at the Holiday Inn Express - their rates are better, their beds are amazing - whirlpool tubs, fridge, 2 rooms, balcony, clean and everything is about 3 steps higher in quality.
