We are coming back for our 2nd stay & can't wait
By Judy, 04/13/09
It was quite, clean, good rates and we were surprised with a lovely "free" breakfast every day. Plus, "free" internet for our lap top and a knowledgeable and friendly staff that helped us with site seeing, shopping and dining. Signed: "2" from Santa Cruz

Needs some serious updating and scrubbing
By Grace Creasey, 07/28/06
We stayed in this hotel on our recent trip down the Pacific Coast Highway from Seattle to San Francisco. This hotel is in serious need of updating. It is very dark and not the cleanest. There is no air condition in the room which left us very uncomfortable. I would not suggest staying in this hotel unless you are not afraid of getting some kind of dread disease from the room, which kept me from sleeping that night.

Choose wisely, my friend
By Suzanne B, 09/15/05
Although the pool area is ok, the rooms are filthy and hot. My daughter had her shoes off for 30 seconds and her socks were blacker than if she had gone for a stroll on HWY 101. There are no tubs (a negative if you have small children). We were roasting hot in our room despite the 50 degree temperature outside. We did not turn on the heater yet couldn't sleep due to the uncomfortable bed and heat. The location is very sketchy. The only window you might be able to open opens right to parked cars so you can't have it open while you are showering and it is big enough for someone to crawl through so you can't open it at night. For about $35 this would be a deal, for $100, this was an utter rip off. The other Best Western in town appeared from the outside to be in better condition and the location was much better (not so industrial). Better yet, make your way up to Crescent City and stay in the new Hampton Inn right on the beach (which was $144 and very very nice).

Beauty by the Bay!
By Jo, 05/17/05
This hotel is located in the charming Victorian Seaport of Eureka, CA., convenient to both the Old Town and mall shopping areas. There is a restaurant next door, sort of an upscale Denny's, that is quite good. It is also only a block from a GREAT steak and seafood place, OH's Townhouse. The pool and breakfast areas of this hotel were outstanding; staff was courteous and helpful; the room was nice size and quite clean. Only downside was some traffic noise, not bad at all though.

Kids had a great time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/04
Our kids really enjoyed the pool & recreation area. They had such a good time, thatI did not have one complaint from any of them. The rooms are clean, the pool was clean, the staff was helpful and curteous. My only complaint...rooms are a little on the small side.

SoccerTeam Booking in Sept
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/04
A little pricey for the area, but no one had any big complaints other than our group being pretty much split up around the entire hotel. Some rooms were a little noisy and the view from our room was lousy, but we didn't mind it too much. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. The indoor/outdoor pool area is great for kids and there was a nice kids pool table and a couple of video game machines. The breakfast included cereal, fruit, yogurt, donuts, juice, coffee and the like. We were well satisfied with it. The staff was also very friendly, but you might do better than $85.00/nt in Eureka (which was our group rate!)
