Best Western Plus Shore Cliff Lodge, Pismo Beach

I use to live in the area and always wondered how it would be to stay at the Shorecliff. The staff that greeted us were informative and helpful. The room was clean and the view of the cliffs was nice. We arrived about 8pm checked in and went to a nice dinner in town. This all started out to be a beautiful experience. You don’t really notice or care that the HWY is just above you at least in the evening. However come morning there is no sleeping in on you long awaited vacation. The tire noise from the big rigs slapping the pavement and car traffic resonates right thru the walls. If I wanted a alarm clock I would set my own time. O well you say your on vacation so make the best of it. We got up took showers and made a little coffee. Thought that as long as we are up lets sit out on the balcony and enjoy the early morning. Well that lasted for about five minutes. The Best Western maintains staff strives to keep the facility in tip top shape. I can only guess no one informed them or it crossed their minds that banging on light fixtures and doing grounds repairs in the breakfast hour is probably not a great idea. Needless to say I won’t recommend this to my friends that want a quite get a way to unwind.

The hotel is situated near some beautiful rocks in the ocean near enough that the sound of the waves crashing against them can be heard. We left the sliding glass door open every night we were here so that sound could lull us to sleep. The staff was very helpful. when we requested an extra blanket it was there in a few minutes. the complimentary breakfast was in the resturant next door. It nice enough. waffle maker, eggs, fruits, pastries, coffee,juice,ceral etc. the view from your room is worth the trip. We were lucky enough to witness a wedding during our stay. it was on the cliff in front of the gazebo over looking the ocean just about sunset. Can you get any more romantic?

My 85 year old mother and myself stayed here for 3 nights. The room was nice, great view, continental breakfast was good. Staff was nice and helpful. Beware, this is a no-smoking hotel. I am a non-smoker so had to call the office to ask them to ask the guests just below us to not smoke on their balcony. The smoke came right into our room. With such a great view you can't help wanting to have your window/balcony door open or spend time on the balcony. We couldn't do that because of the smokers - but the hotel manager must have asked them to stop smoking. One thing the employees can do at check-in is to stress emphatically that there is no smoking in the rooms or on the balcony. Would stay here again but may want to try other locations first - it's a bit away from the beach.

Shore cliff lodge was the WORST stay in a hotel I have ever had. And I have stayed at many hotels! The only thing this hotel has is the location. That I must say is beautiful. yet the staff is HORRIBLE!! They were so rude, and the front desk cussed at me and my family! Also the night guard was watching me in my room. This hotel is full of perverts and RUDE staff. DO NOT GO TO THE SHORE CLIFF LODGE!!! WARNING!!!

We made reservations elsewhere, but when we arrived were terribly disappointed. Called this Best Western and they had a room with a pier view that was magnificient!!! We are going again, but they are already booked.. So sad... The restaurant/lounge next door was great for breakfast and an evening drink when we arrived. The staff was very helpful. It was perfect!! The stay was a bit pricey, but one has to remember that EVERYWHERE in Pismo is pricey unless you're camping on the beach.. :)

This place is disgusting. Spent $250.00 per night for 2 nights for what ? A room that smelled like a chain of smokers had gathered there, a shower, in which the shower head on the wall was at the middle of my chest, a toilet so low that my 6 year old could with a slight bend of knee's could sit comfortably, blankets on beds were so thin, I thought they were toweletts, very noisy through neighboring walls, and the rooms are dirty. With the exception of a great view, I found this location to be over-rated, overpriced, and in need of major guest room makeovers. I strongly suggest that you ask to see a room before you spend this kind of money. Oh, and bring your own pillow.

I really enjoyed my stay. I recommend this hotel to everyone. I plan to stay here again it was very clean, comfortable and the view of the ocean just beautiful. The staff was very friendly.

In 21 days we stayed in 15 hotels, this was one off the one to remember. Nothing was bad about this hotel. Cleaning was good, and the size off the room was big enought for a family off 4.

Our room was overlooking the pounding waves of the ocean...The pool and spa were right outside our room, the service was professional and fast at checkin. Internet was accessible in the room and also a complimentary continental breakfast was enjoyed on our morning of departure. We received a midweek great rate staying here and they also gave us our AAA discount.
