Super 8 Oceanside, Oceanside

I'm so surprised to read all the negative reviews! My boyfriend & I have family in Oceanside & used to stay at the GuestHouse Suites & Inn, which was nice, but it's more expensive. We've stayed at Marty's 2 or 3 times now & have enjoyed it each time, both when it was Best Western & now that it's Super 8. Yes, it's very basic, but the front desk staff has been fine, our (non-smoking) rooms have been clean & smelled fine, they've provided a microwave upon request, & last time (July 4th weekend) there was a nifty new shower head, curtain, & rod. We're late sleepers, so we've not tried the hotel breakfast. We prefer to go to Mary's Restaurant where the food is great & the staff is very friendly.

Stains on the floor and ceiling, hotel staff is very very rude. They also charge you for days you do not stay there. Beware of this hotel and staying there

Worse hotel we have ever stayed at. The front staff were very rude and even hung up on a person calling them a A..hole wile we were standing right there. Do not stay at this hotel

MOSTLY ALL HOTLES I HAVE STAYED AT TRY TO SELL THEMSELVES OUT SO I THOUGHT IT WAS WEIRD WHEN I SHOW UP AT THE BEST WESTERN AND THE GIRL AT THE FRONT DESK (I DON'T REMEMBER HER NAME, THIN AND BLONE) RECOMENED ANOTHER HOTEL. I DIDN'T HAVE A RESERVATION OR ANYTHING BUT IT WAS BARLEY 1 PM IDK IF THEY WERE SOLD OUT...QUOTED ME A RATE AT ANOTHER HOTEL, I GO AND IT'S NOT EVEN THE CORRECT RATE!!! I WAS SO CONFUSED!??? BUT TO BE HONEST I THINK IT WAS A GOOD THING THAT I DIDN'T END UP STAYING THERE AFTER READING THE BAD REVIEW BELOW!

Usually, you can rely on Best Western hotels to be decent. Martys Valley Inn barely qualifies as a hotel! The main purpose of a hotel is for sleeping, but how can one sleep if loud drunks are partying right downstairs? We arrived at about 6pm, heard and saw the party at the meeting room, and figured it would be over before 8 or 9. We returned from dinner after 9, and people were still there yelling. I asked the front desk when the party was going to end, and the receptionist didn't know! Don't they have a schedule? She ended up moving us to another room, which was quieter, but didn't have a security lock. As if this wasn't enough, the next morning, my husband went to make a waffle at the continental breakfast at about 0915 (it closed at 0930), and no batter was left. He and another man asked about it, and the other man was grudgingly given some, while my husband got none! Now, we are polite, professional people and didn't bring this on ourselves. This hotel doesn't deserve to be called a hotel, much less a Best Western.

Stayed for 2 nights and could not sleep one night due to overused mattress. Had to call in on arrival to have stained bedding exchanged. Location is close to the most awful beach we have ever been to. Would definately not recommend to anyone!!
