Great Management, Good Location
By deniseml, 2/10/06
I frequently visit Morro Bay and always stay at Bay View Inn. Great people, great location, great view, wonderful place. I enjoy staying at this hotel because I like the friendly environment, great atmosphere. I am a frequent Morro Bay visitor and every time I come, I stay here.

Charming !
By Katie, 5/16/05
We weren't expecting too much for the price, but were very charmed by the large, comfortable room with a cozy fireplace and a view and a half. The room decor had a bed & breakfast feel. The location could not have been better. The service was attentive and prompt. We will visit again for sure.

Don't stay here if you want comfort!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/4/05
'King size bed with Fireplace and Bayview' for $130.00. Sounds like it might be nice right? What a dive! Our 'view' of the bay was almost completely blocked by the house and the huge tree across the street. The room was extremely dark; the chairs were totally worn out; the gas fireplace would only turn on so low that we couldn't even tell that it was on; there were hairballs all over the bathroom, in the shower, on the sink, we even found a hairball in the 'clean' bath towels...bath towels that were so small and thin they were more like face towels. I opted not to shower and decided instead to sit unwashed and feeling un-clean on the long drive home. When I told them about the hair (which is all I mentioned to them), I wasn't asking for a refund, I just wanted to pay what I thought the room was worth. She flat out told me 'no refunds'. Anything for a buck I suppose. What ever happened to friendly customer service?

Wouldn't bother next time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/05
The rooms are large and the fire place was okay, but very small. For the size of the room, we felt it could have had better furnishings -- stuff chairs or a love seat would have been nice. Also, for as large as the bedrooms are, the bathrooms were as small -- couldn't fully open the shower door without hitting the toilet. We had two rooms, and both beds were hard as rocks (we joked that they could be like the Flintstones -- called it the Bay Rock Inn) and the pillows were a joke. We didn't get a single good night's sleep in the 3 nights we were there. In each room we had there was a guide to the TV channels that also advertised a free breakfast each morning between 8 and 9:30. That was totally false advertising. The front desk wasn't even open any of the days were were there in the morning. Heck, we couldn't even check out our last day as there was no one there to check out with. For $60 a night I did expect more than the $37 Motel 6, but other than a larger room, I can't say we really got any more.

Great Value, close to downtown shops & Embarcadero
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/04
Very nice, clean large rooms. King room with fireplace was large, fireplace could have been turned up more to provide real heat instead of just nice glow, but otherwise was very nice & quiet, mid week. Management is very nice & friendly, let us park our motorcycle in the covered car port.
