Great Location for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/09
Great Location for Monterey. Very cramped feel. Internet didn't work. Under no circumstances stay in the rooms next to the office. They are noisy from all the traffic and the kitchen vents into them. Ethnic cuisine all night and bacon and eggs from 5am onward. My stomach is burning and I' down in the Peets looking for another motel to stay in. Light in the room is extremely dark so I really don't know if they are clean or not. The sheets smell suspect. Hotel has hired more employees than Walmart to work in this place because I think they traffic a lot. Somebody is always popping their head out to see who's coming and going. It's tense.

Iffy but not bad
By Catherine, 09/20/09
My husband and I just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary and decided to drive to Monterey for the weekend. We ended up staying at the Quality Inn and it was quite nice. Though the rooms were decorated a little wierd (I noticed it had a very indian vibe and when I asked the front desk girl who owned the hotel, in fact he was indian!) but overall it was nice. The best part was all of the fun ideas the front desk girl, Merissa, gave me! She was amazing! So sweet and caring. She printed off directions to not only where we wanted to go, but to other local attractions we may be interested in. Ask for Merissa if you can, we were really happy with her help.

It wasn't bad.

The rooms with the queen size beds were large. The best room is the one with the fireplace. Not thrilled with the continental breakfast. Had to wait for the maid to come make waffles(they wouldn't just let you do it). There were some left on the plate (have no idea how long there), and when the lady finally came in (10 minutes and two radio calls later) she wouldn't make anymore because there were still some left. We had the muffins (Costco). Still, it was a cute place and the front desk staff was pleasant.

we booked this hotel after reading lots of different hotels reviews . we picked Quality Inn on Munras ave, guess wat good choice . rooms excellent with new drapes and beddings. Front desk clerks were very informative and breakfast was excellent. Night Manager very helpfull. we needed some milk for my baby he opened the office and give some extra fruits for my 2 yr old . this kinda service will keep this property at the top of the world. Thanks for every thing i lov it. will recommend to every one!!!

5 days in Paradise
By Robert, 07/28/07
Just returned from spending 5days here. Found the facility clean, and for the most part quite at night. Staff was very helpful, and location is close to everything. Thought the rates might be a bit wierd as our " non cancellable" reservations were made 2 wks in advance, and it appeared that walkins might get a better rate? So, press for the best rate. Overall, I would not hesitate to go here again.

Very Pleasant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/06
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and roomy and felt more like home than a hotel. They were clean and well maintained - the shower and toilet area were a little small but nice, the half circle shower curtain rod made the shower/tub roomier and there was plenty of hot water. The thing I enjoyed most was all the hanging baskets of blooming flowers everywhere! It makes you feel right at home and we could see the bay from our window. However, we did not find that it was within walking distance of the wharf. Maybe if you're Lance Armstrong or a marathon runner. But, all in all, we would stay there again and would recommend it to others who want a pleasant economical hotel. Also the pool was heated just right and the spa was wonderful.

Not quite what we expected.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/06
I reserved 3 rooms for my family. I was very specific about needing a disabled room. Kind of important for someone in a wheelchair. When we got there all of the rooms were on the second floor, up stairs. We ended up getting an aweful room on the corner, by the ice machine. The rooms were not as nice as the other reviews lead us to believe. The walls were very thin. The sheets did not stay on the beds. The fireplace glass was so dirty, you could hardly see the flames. The rooms were very old looking and shabby. The internet connection was so slow we could not even check e-mail. The pool was great, the flowers outside where very pretty, although there were cigarette butts in most of the pots.

Zzzzz!
By reachel, 09/06/06
For a cheapee motel....this place was great! The bed is the only reason to consider making a reservation at a Quality Inn...aside from the cheap price! To my surprise, the place was really clean and the again...the bed...I slept like a baby!

Pay more $$ for a better location!
By Jill, 06/05/06
Bad location! There website gives you the idea that the hotel is closer to the aquarium then what is really is. We wanted to walk to the aquarium with our toddlers rather then have to drive & pay for parking. When it was time for check out @ 11am, we had one last potty break in the hotel room we stayed in. To our surprise they were already cleaning our room @ 9am. We used the extra pillows & blankets that were provided. The cleaning staff put the pillows & blankets back in the closet w/out changing the pillow cases or washing the blankets. YUCK!!! I told the front desk staff but he didn't seem that concerned. The indoor pool was great but the chemicals had not been changed b/c the water had a VERY salty taste. This hotel shares a pool with the neighboring hotel. Spend a few extra $$ at a clean & close hotel.
