Unprofessional Manager and Lazy Housekeepers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/11
The location was very convienent to restaraunts, Wal-Mart, Disneyland and California Adventure Parks. The pool is open from 10am-11pm which is also a nice deal for those who were busy all day and wouldn't mind taking a swim or soaking in the hot tub. Their breakfast was two types of toast, butter and jelly, two types of cereal, milk, coffee, tea, juice and donuts. Thee is a Denny's 2minutes away that has AWESOME staff and service for those looking for a decent breakfast. The down fall was we did not like the lack of professionalism the General Manager had and we question the cleanliness of the house keeping staff. Our first night there we found an apple under one of the beds. Thank goodness it wasn't old enough to acquire bugs, but it also wasn't very fresh! There was a cigaretter burn mark in one of the beds comforters. The main issue arose when we alloowed our children to play with bath crayons. We had left their art work up on the shower walls as they had taken a late bath right before bed and as every parent knows when you share a room with your children when they go to bed you go to bed also as it is very difficult to get them to sleep otherwise. The nesxt morning my wife wrote on the wall of bathtub "Thank goodness for bath crayons", as to alert housekeeping they were not actual crayons when they entered. Housekeeping complained to the general manager, and the general manager (Kevin Chen) locked us out of our room and left a letter at the front desk telling us we had to remove the art work from the bathtub walls ourself. This actually wasn't the problem as any parent would know the bath crayons are just colored soap, so we used wet wash cloth and wiped it off. The problem was it was 9pm at night and our children had to witness this. As parents we had to explain to our children 2,5 & 11, that this was no way shape or form their fault. Our middle child worried the next morning that when we left for Disneyland we owuldn't get back in that night. The way the general manager handled the situation was unprofessional. Because of my middle sons fear and our own hurt at bath crayons being blown out of proportion I took time out of our vacation the next morning to meet with Mr. Chen and discuss how upsetting the whole situation was. Again, it was merely soap that rinses off with any simple cleaning and us not having cleaning supplies were able to wipe it clean within in minutes of using a wet wash cloth. He stated they had never heard fo such a thing. I presented him with bath crayons and reciept from their local Wal-Mart showing him it is not something new or just from the east coast. I further pressed that I didn't view them to be child friendly, but he stated they were and we should have let them know our children would be playing with such products first. He further went on to say he had physically went to our oom to see the artwork. I asked if he tried to get it off he responded "yes". i then asked if it was difficult to wipe off and he agreed it came off easily, yet his housekeeping staff stated it would take them an extra 30min to clean the tub?! Clearly the houskeeping staff felt it was too much work to actually clean, which makes my wife and I wonder between the apple left under a bed and the tantrum they had over soap crayons in the tub if the housekeeping is really cleaning? Our last night there was New Year's Eve and we came in at 1am on New Year's Day from Disneyland celebration to find our middle sons fear still came true and the card would not let us in our room again.... the front desk did not know why this happened and corrected the card however the damage to our son and us was done buy that point. We do NOT recommend this place for families nor would we recommend this place for anybody due to the question in how the staff even cleans!!!
