My stay at Motel 6, please read
By grandmastapj, 07/31/07
This place provides no shampoo, no coffee maker to heat up water, and no hair dryer. Of course there would be no fridge, then. I think it's ridiculous for a motel to not provide little containers of shampoo. Instead, they have a machine that you have to pay up the *** for. Another thing I did not like was, the window in my room did not open and there was no screen on it. I enjoy having my window open for fresh air and I was forced to have the a/c on because of this. Then you have to get up and down in the middle of the night to turn that on and off. There is no such thing as a $58 room here. They do not accept AAA discount and the cheapest room with tax runs atleast $80.00 standard. I don't know how they can put "from $58." that is false advertising. Their comment cards should provide either a toll free number or website address because if you have a negative comment about the service or front desk, they are not going to turn the card in! Other than all that, this location is more desirable (safer) than the Motel 6 on Carlsbad Village Dr. I've stayed at both.

Clean, comfortable, convenient
By LA Creeper, 09/02/06
This was a great deal for a budget hotel. The rooms appeared to have renovated relatively recently, so everything was clean and in working order. Make sure you ask to be on the side of the hotel that's not facing the freeway. The service was friendly, not fancy, and we had no problems getting a portable crib, and even good dining recommendations. The location is very convenient for visiting Legoland, as it is less than 5 minutes away. There are many many restaurant choices nearby, with several of them just a short walk away. I definitely recommend this place for people on a budget. Oh, there is a pool, but it's small and really only suitable for kids (forget about doing laps).

a nice stay
By Mari, 02/03/06
the hotel was nice, but the only thing to complain about is that the carpet was dirty. our socks were very dirty after walking on the carpet. other than that, the room was comfortable, quiet, and otherwise pleasant.

Cheap service
By Kenneth, 01/07/06
My family stayed in the hotel for three nights during Christmas of 2005. I should say it's clean because it has been recently renovated. But the TV cable channels had no children programs in the morning and night. My kids felt so bored. Also there was no shampo! I asked the reception desk, the lady just replied "Sorry, we have no more shampo". When I made a reservation, I was told the room had two queen beds, but when I checked in, I found that the hotel rooms only had two full size beds. Anyhow, we have no interest to go back to the hotel again.

Good value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/05
I stumbled on this place by luck and although it wasn't great it was OK. They are obviously doing some renovating and upgrading the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable and everything worked but the A/C was super noisy. Located about a five minute drive from the beach, near shopping and nice places to eat this wouldn't be a bad place to stay cheap for a couple days if you only needed a room to crash in at night. The room rate was excelent and really made this stay a good value. No breakfast in the morning except coffee in the lobby. I was in the area on business and if you're on a tight expense account but still want to stay in a good room I don't know that you'll do better than this place.
