Not too good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/08
I stayed here with my family for four days. The first thing that happen I discovered our AC didnt work, no problem though we just opened the window. The next day they forgot to clean our room some how and I called and they said that housekeeping was gone for the day but they would send someone up if we would like. However we were tired and didnt feel like standing in the hall way while one guy made the beds and cleaned the room. Later on that day our toilet clogged due to the weak water pressure, they sent someone up with a plunger and he made a mess of the bathroom and left. I called the front desk to talk to the manager and once again the same guy who made the mess came back up and attempeted to clean it up as my wife and kids waited to use the bathroom. Fifteen minutes later it started to back up again and I called again and the manager apologized and sent the young man up again to plunge it making another mess and leaving it. this time it was too late and we were all tired so I asked for a plunger so I could use it in case it backe up again. They did not have any spare plungers so I would have to have this guy come to the room every time to plunge it if it happened again. The manager told me there were no other rooms available at the time so he was sorry and offered a twenty dollar breakfast coupon. He seemed to be irritated with me and kinda alouf about the whole thing. We cut our trip short by two days and left the hotel. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Inexpensive and convenient, decent accomodations
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/21/05
I've stayed at the SF Holiday Inn Airport North many times now. The front desk staff is generally efficient, helpful, friendly, and accomodating. I have never had a problem with a 'lost' reservation or any problems checking in, although my room preference (1 or 2 beds, non-smoking) are not always given attention, so I did have to change rooms once (I now make sure to confirm the room setup during check-in). The rooms are decent, functional, and seem to generally be clean. My only request is that they get better mattresses, as the beds are the least comfortable of any hotel that I have stayed in recently (very little padding on the surface of the mattress, making them feel hard). They recently (as of Q1 2005) made their Ethernet Internet access free in all rooms, which I very much appreciate. Just bring an Ethernet cable with your laptop, and the free Internet access works great. I was previously very reluctant to pay the daily fee when I only spent perhaps 15 minutes online each night. This service is a very welcome addition and gives this Holiday Inn several bonus points from me. The hotel is literally 50 feet from the South San Fran Conference Center, and has a free shuttle from SFO that runs every 30 minutes. The in-hotel restaurant is decent, but the menu is somewhat limited, and not surprisingly a bit overpriced. There are a few restaurants within walking distance (IHOP, Hungry Hunter, Sheraton Four Points restaurant), and numerous very good restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive (Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Thai). If you aren't pretentious about hotel rooms, the Holiday Inn Airport North is a very good deal. The Sheraton Four Points North across the street is noticeably nicer, but is anywhere from $30 - $50 more per night, or about 40% - 60% more expensive than the Holiday Inn. Happy Traveling!

Cheap, convenient, functional
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/05
I have stayed at this Holiday Inn SFO North several times now and find it very acceptable given the low rates that I can get by booking through Yahoo Travel. Service is not great and beds are not very good, but given that I only sleep in the room and nothing else, it meets my needs well for the price. Shuttle to and from SFO runs every 30 minutes. Hotel restaurant is good, and there is also a bar (which I have not yet been to). Several great restaurants are a 5-10 minute drive away in nearby towns--S. San Fran, Millbrea, etc. I go to the South San Fran Conference Center 2-3 times per year, and plan on staying at this hotel.
