Clean, Comfortable, and Economical

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks while on business in the area. As there are not many hotels in Newport to choose from, Days Inn being the only "chain" hotel, I stayed here on the recommendation of coworkers.
The hotel is dated, I'm guessing that it was built in the 60's, but the staff does a good job of keeping the rooms and grounds clean and bug free. The rooms do have some cosmetic problems (chipped paint, small areas of peeling wall paper, and well worn furniture), but nothing that makes the stay unbearable - I was able to easily look past the blemishes after only the first day. Rooms are equipped with a micro-fridge, coffee maker, television, and a desk. The rooms I stayed in had adequate lamp lighting, and flourescent lights in the bathroom area.
The hotel is in a fairly convenient location, in eye shot of Wal-Mart and several restaurants. Fortune Inn has it's own restaurant, Kelly's, on-site as well. The food there is reasonably priced, with the most expensive items costing around $15 (steak), but most items being less than $10.
Overall, this hotel is not a bad place to stay, and for the price, is definately bearable. One downside, however, is no continental breakfast.
