Gaston's White River Resort, Lakeview

Good fishing in the river. Cabins are kinda run down. Lodge will nickle and dime you. Free boat with cabin rental, but charges for motor, seats, rope and anchor will run 100 for half day. Restaurant in very expensive and food is so-so. Service slow. Wife's food was cold, staff uppity. Mountain View is a better deal.

Correct, there are plenty of other places that are just as nice and cheaper. They are high on their prices, which include the gift shop, restaurant, and drinks for that area. If you have the extra $$ you'll spend it, but you could find a place for a better value.

I have stayed at four resorts in Bull Shoals, Midway and Lakeview. Gastons is very nice, but there are other that are less expensive that are just as nice.

Gaston's is simply the nicest resort I've ever been to. I take my family there several times a year because the accommodations are great, inexpensive, and the service is unbelieveable. I like to fish in the river while my wife shops and the kids play in the pool, arcade room, or playground. We take a football and play catch behind our cottage. This is the best place I can think of for a family to spend quality time together, and everybody actually have a good time.

This is the only place I would recommend taking your wife too! I have fished all over the western hemisphere, but my wife only asks to go back to Gaston's. Great time and value for EVERYONE.
