One Star is Generous

My wife and I checked into the hotel in March 2005. We were given our key and we set off to our room. When we opened the door we discovered that the room was already occupied. I trekked back to the hotel lobby and before I even had the chance to explain the situation, the manager on duty told me that he had realized what had happened. We were assigned to a second room not far from the first. We proceeded to that room only to find its door wide open and in total disarray with trash strewn throughout. This time I called the front desk and five minutes later the manager showed up with keys to room number three. What struck us as odd was that the manager did not offer anything to us other than a sheepish apology no upgraded room, offer to discount our stay, a free meal nothing. We were given the keys to the third room and were finally able to check in. The rooms at this hotel have a very worn look to them. If you are looking simply for a place to crash at the end of a long day, this hotel might be the place for you, put bright and cheerful, it is not. I went over to the glass doors of the main closet to open them and they would not slide they were jammed. That was the final straw. We collected our things and turned our keys into the front desk. The happy ending to this story is that we traveled less than a mile south to the Hampton Inn Tucson-North located at 5950 N Oracle Rd and enjoyed a wonderful stay there.
