8 reviews for Econo Lodge Tucson, Tucson
It was lovely when we entered the room for the first time.. after that it was a nightmare.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/07
When we arrived the place was cozy and smelled nice then after closing the door and two hours later the room started to smell like feet, then when my daughter took a shower the handle blowed off on her chest. The bathrooms are pathetic! My husband could hardly fit in there. The Tv was messed up. Never again are we coming here. Oh and get this, the staff wanted to charge us because the handle broke off, ridicolouse isn't it?

Cricket Motel
By Clive, 08/23/07
Noisy bathroom fan. So bad, I had to shower in the dark. No shampoo. Running toilet. Cricket in the air conditioning unit. Claimed to have "fixed" the problems by the second night. Never did get the pesky cricket or the bathroom fan fixed. Asked for another room. It took some explaining to get the night clerk to understand the problem and get another room. Second night was a pleasure. Everything worked. Beyond the room issue, the staff was friendly. The place was clean.

Decent deal, very quiet, close to intersate.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/07
No noise. Old, but clean, nice people, no noise. Close to I-10. Good water pressure in the showers. The people who work there are very nice. This is more a clean place to bunk than a nice place to stay, but it's a good deal.

it's okay for the money
By tony, 04/16/07
We were not expecting much in the way of amentities. It was just a quick overnight stay, late check-in, early check-out. However, we found the rooms to be clean and spacious. The queen-size bed was fresh and comfortable. The television, though small by most standards, worked well. And the staff was most courteous. The location is ideal for those who want quick access to the freeways. It's a no-frills place and it suited our traveling needs quite well. Until I get a bad experience, I would stay there again.

A total Dive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/07
I was looking for a good value on a motel, the pictures on the web site looked good and said it was near some of the attractions we wanted to see. We reqested two separte rooms, one smoking, one non-smoking. While registering the clerk told some one in the back to check and see if a paticular room was ready. ( we were checking in after 5p.m.) we stated that we wanted rooms near each other. The rooms ended up being half way across the motel from one another. The smoking room was not to bad. I had no problem being in it. I have extreme allergies to many smells. I went to my non-smoking room and about quit breathing, the air was so thick with air freshener, it smelled like they had sprayed a whole can of it in the room. I opened the window, turned the air on high. I lay down to rest and could smell the distinct odor of cigarettes. I saw that both night stands had burns on them, one of them had ashes in the drawer and there was a cigarette burn on the carpet. There was a no-smoking plauqe on the door but it certainly hadn't been used as non smoking. The beds were worn out, to the point that the box spring on mine was completely broke down on one side. There was a leak under the vanity with mold and mildew growing on the carpet. The bathroom had broken tiles in the tub area, the toilet would almost over flow every time you flushed. The carpet was frayed and torn near the door and worn out through out the whole room. There was no hot tub, as stated in the review, the pool was mostly shaded so it was ice cold. The hot breakfast consisted of weak coffee, watered down juice and muffins that normally come in a two pack,(they can be purchased at places like Sam's club.) that were opened up and put out individually and left uncovered. The whole exprience was bad. The one good point, great water pressure in the shower. We certainly learned to check out the rooms before check in during the rest of my trip.

Great location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/06
LOL...at the previous posts. Location is awful? It's the best location there is for travelers. The 2 interstates in Tucson meet at this hotel with downtown 1mile away and the airport 6 miles away the electric park, university, casinos, museums everything close. Also the hotel is surrounded by the best mexican restaurants in Tucson. Bill Clinton has been to one of these restaurants, twice. The breakfast was a joke? Well, this is a limited service economy hotel...for $34-40 dollars what do you expect, a gourmet breakfast? There is a restaurant at the property if you want a meal (Happy Iguana is the name). I enjoyed my stay cheap and great location.

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/06
It was cheap, that was the only good thing. The pool was freezing and the hot tub was broken. The rooms were nasty and old. Not even a coffeemaker in there. The breakfast was a joke; juice, coffee, and muffins. That was it. The area was also creepy and for 2 women traveling with a toddler it didnt feel safe. Never again. I rather pay more money

AWFUL!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/07/05
There has to be a better hotel in this price range. We knew it wouldn't be great as it was rated 2 stars, but 2 stars is being generous. The shower was a joke. it stopped working after my husband took the first shower. Had to wait over an hour for them to come fix it so I could shower. Next morning the same thing happened before either of us could shower. they at least came quicker to fix it, but left the bathroom a mess. No "do not disturb" signs, so housekeeping came by plenty early (on New Year's Day). It was dirty, moldy, a total joke. We will never stay there again.
