Sitka Hotel, Sitka

Lousy service...very noisy (especially after walking all day) bar is very loud. I asked to move to another room or to have them turn the music down, but was told no more rooms, and I have a room down there, they won't turn it down for me. No coffee pots in the rooms, had to go to the lobby to get a cup. I felt like I was stealing the coffee after the looks from the front desk staff. Unable to get wi-fi as advertised..not even a low connection. Housekeeping staff was more friendly and helpful then the front desk guys. tiny tiny room. front desk laughed when I asked them about printer sitting next to computer in the cubby of a lobby. they just laughed and said it ain't hooked up. Sitka is very beautiful and every place I went, the people were very very friendly and helpful-except for this hotel. If there were rooms elsewhere in town, I would have moved.....resturant food did not impress me at all...Mcdonalds was better. Awesome waitress tho. served a great cup of coffee. might be ok for an overnite stay...but no longer.

Place smells very bad from a recent fire, drove our kids nuts. Had to stay elsewhere. Would have been nice if they informed us before we arrived as it was a real mess.

You will get your moneys worth in this quaint hotel. You have the feeling that you stepped back in time when entering this place. Clean; friendly staff; smack dab in the midlle of town. The best breakfast served in Sitka and the bast bar for drinks at night. Have recommended to all my friends ( and enemies.
