Holiday Inn Downtown, Huntsville

this was the worst place I have stayed in 25 years. The fridg wasn't working, ants in the rooom, A C didnt work, enough light around the door to read a news paper.

Lock up anything of value! All sorts of things may walk off while you're out and about.

We enjoyed the 3 night stay during the Whistlestop BBQ. The rooms were super nice, very clean; the room service and food was fantastic, plus the entire staff was very friendly.

This is the second stay - we are with the visiting baseball team playing the Huntsville Stars. After riding in a bus for 5 hours it would be nice for things to be prepared when we arrive late into the next morning. Room keys don't work, no refrigerator in the room. Expressed these concerns on last trip here and same thing this time. This place was probably nice if it were the 1960's but for 2010 it's way below standards. Since it is our 2nd trip I would suggest staying somewhere else. Whoever made the deal for visiting teams to stay here should have to stay here with their family for 5 days and see what it's like.

Hotel was nice and located across the street from a beautiful park.The people were the friendliest we've encountered anywhere! They seemed genuinely concerned about us and went out of their way to help us with directions. Couldn't have asked for a better setting.

Unfriendly adminstrative staff. The hotel staff is very inviting. With every room you enter, you will always have a staff member to greet you. Check in was quick and easy. There is free parking. The hotel is only distance from the Convention Center. The hotel was very clean. There is cable TV and high speed internet. The high speed internet was very helpful and easy to use. You don't need a laptop or a palm and it cost $9.95 for 12 hours usage. There was a complimentary robe in the closet along with an extra pillow and blanket. The shower was a Moen and its was great. Room service ordering was sometimes unfriendly. However the food was great. There is a large selection of sandwiches such as the Catfish sandwich, turkey, burgers, rueben and chicken served with fries and cole slaw ($7-10). They offer appettizers such as shrimp cocktail, spinach dip, hot wings and soups such as gumbo, salads, and main dinner meals that range from 13-18 dollars such as Migon. However downstairs they offer dinner buffets. Breakfast may be delivered to your room or join the restaurant downstairs. Other restaurants and shopping are a quick drive away. Please remember to print directions for getting back on the interstate. Overall, I had a great experience. Enjoy!
