Rude customer service at the front desk
By Jo, 05/15/09
I liked the fact that the rooms are all suites. Breakfast was super and of course the manager's coctail reception was great too! My only complained was the front desk staff by the name of Tameka . She is not very friendly and hardly smiled. I am surprised that she works at the front desk considering her unfriendliness attitude towards guest. She almost looked grumpy all the time. Other than that, my stay was great. Oh yeah, I was in a smoking room and the comfort,,,eewww it had a big hole on it.

Good Stay
By C.T, 05/13/08
Always a gamble finding a place off the Internet - but this one was good. Nice sized Clean room, Good bed, good water pressure, Breakfast each morning with friendly staff and made to order omelet. Indoor pool (which we did not use). The Hotel is kept up nicely - very reminiscent of Mel Brooks High Anxiety - I Loved It!! - It is not perfect -- But then again nothing is! But the price was reasonable enough!! We will stay again.

A disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/05
Kids played tag with their base next to our room until 4:00 AM. The next morning they were barefoot and, again, unsupervised at the breakfast buffet which made the wait in line thirty to forty-five minutes. They were using the luggage carriers to ride on. At no time during the time we were there did I see anyone in management step forward and do anything about the situation. If I performed my job as poorly, I'd be unemployed. We left after one of a planned two day stay and fortunately were able to find another quiet and well managed hotel. When we left there were no apologies given which was the least we should have expected. I am not one to demand a refund, I just leave and never return, but I will recommend to anyone that they not waste their money at the Embassy Suites in Birmingham.

Very nice, luxurious hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/05
I had a very good time staying here! My room was on the 8th floor, the top floor where I could see the center of the hotel down, which was decorated nicely around the breakfast area with greens, water, and corps. The complimentary breakfast was good with plenty choice of fruits, bread, hot meals, drinks, etc. The stuffs were nice anywhere I went. The room was very spacious, and the bed was so comfortable (this was the first time I could sleep well staying at hotel!). I will definitely go back here again=) The only trouble I had was the directions I got from yahoo map… it was hard to find the street to the hotel. I recommend to ask directions from the stuff when you make a reservation.

I liked everything about it. And I had a good time. I liked the Pool, and the fact that it was indoor. I had fun!

Infamous Corner Rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/05
The staff here calls their worst rooms the corner rooms. These rooms are next to two drops; one for rubbish and one for soiled linens. Each time a drop is made down these chutes a loud explosion is heard in the room. Even the business office people don't want to use the room for offices as there is a business office in a room area elsewhere. Although these rooms should be used for storage the Embassy Suites rents the room hoping guests will at least stay one night in them before requesting a change. Upon going to the desk the agent knows right away about the problem. These rooms are a repository for broken televisions, air conditioners that malfunction.

Overwhelmed by Katrina victims
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/05
100% occupancy has caused this hotel to be overwhelmed. Bathroom floors are not mopped, vacuuming is skipped, dusting is unheard of. Silverware, glasses and coffee cups are filthy. Use disposable ware if you don't like lipstick on cups. The hotel is showing its age with rust on air conditioner panels, broken refrigerators, grout missing and mildewy. Windows are filthy and hard to see out of.

Excellent
By Sandy, 09/15/05
We stayed at the Embassey Suites on our way to visit relatives in Southern AL. We choose this hotel for the location, FREE hot breakfast and FREE Happy Hour. We were really impressed by the rooms. Plenty of space, and the best amenities. The breakfast and Happy Hour were excellent. We felt truly spoiled. The hotel is located off the highway, so it was in a quiet area yet easy to get back on the highway. I think we will stay here every time we head down for a visit with relatives. It was well worth it.

One of Bham's best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/05
This is a nice place rooms are great but walls are paper thin. I don't like open walkways for doorways and you have go to lobby to go swimming. Ruth Chris is here.

I thought that the staff were very nice and curteous to my party. We really enjoyed ourselves and I hope to come there again as soon as possible. Thank you for the hospitality.
