La Quinta Inn San Diego Scripps Poway, San Diego

We would have stayed at a Marriott but we were attending a wedding and the wedding party arranged to stay at this hotel. We were in #212 on the ground floor. There were three huge stains on the carpet upon entering. The floor of the bath tub was stained with what looked like dirt. There was a mold looking substance on the edge of the tub and toothpaste on the shower curtain. We checked out the rooms of others in our wedding party and their tub floors were similar in appearance. Obviously an older building that has been renovated to a degree but not enough to make it a great value. The carpet and tub made us question what the cleanliness of the rest of the amenities really was even though they looked clean.

Just went out there this week on a Wednesday. Front desk was friendly. Our non-smoking room didn't smell so that was great. it was very clean. During the afternoon you hear planes from a nearby marine base, but at nite it's quiet. Our room on the 3rd floor faced the gas station so in the morning you might hear noise from there mainly the air machines. I slept fine at nite, bed was comfy. I was awaken early in the morning by someone next door taking a shower, but i fell asleep again. Free breakfast consisted of fruit, cereal, muffins, yogurt, it was yummy, it just ends too darn early at 9am :) Right next to IHOP ( you get a 10% discount there if you stay at this hotel) and Starbucks too is within the same lot oh and a mobile gas station. construction nearby on the 15, the only inconvenience was that at nite we couldn't get onto that off ramp from the south so we had to go to the next exit, get back on the freeway head south and get off on the missed exit. the hotel entrance is the same as the IHOP, so if you're not careful you might miss it. Parking wasn't a problem but then again we were there in the middle of the week. Safe looking place. Our room did have some non-working lights but no biggie, our iron didn't work we called the front desk and right away they sent up a brand new iron. Bathroom a little small, but just for one night who cares. Used my AAA card for extra savings. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this place.

The room was very clean and spacious. The bed and pillow were comfortable. The only thing I don't like is there's no exhaust fan in the bathroom. They should also put in a microwave in every room. But overall, it's not bad for the price. I would still go back there for a stay.

Check in was very quick and the person at the desk was very nice. Our room was clean and did not have an unpleasant smell. I requested the rm to be as far away from the smoking area as possible. We were placed on the 4th floor, right next to the elevator. Despite being by the elevator we hardly heard it when used. Our room was really quiet vs other hotels we've stayed at, so that was nice. IHOP is a short walk next door. The LQ complimentary breakfast was "ok"...the area was very small, but hey - can't beat free breakfast!! I read on other sites the hotel was difficult to find since it lacks a big la quinta sign up in front, but there are small plastic signs on the right side of the street right next to the Mobil gas station. We would likely stay here again if ever in the area again.

IT WAS COMFORTABLE AND COZY. I FELT AT HOME THE WHOLE TIME. IT IS THE PERFECT HOTEL IN SO MANY WAYS SUCH AS THE LOCATION AND THE PRICE AND ALSO THE SERVIS.IF THEY WILL DRIVE ME PLACES FOR FREE THAT IS GREAT!!!

The room was just what we were looking for. It was clean and comfortable with friendly service. We especially enjoyed the convenience of the continental breakfast. It has a good selection of breakfast items and coffee. We were about 20 minutes away from the beach in a great neighborhood with alot of restaurants. We couldn't have asked for more at this price.

I had a great time visiting my old home town. The motel/hotel was great, the room was fine and the hotel staff fixed the leaking toilet quickly. We had to leave late in the afternoon of the third day, and the staff enabled us to do so without charging us for that night. I greatly appreiciated that. I have to come back to town in May and June, and I plan to stay there again. Floyd Campbell
