Nice Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/07
I stayed here for one night as I was passing through. I had a rate of $60 for a nice non-smoking king bed room which was clean and quiet. It overlooked the parking lot instead of the river which was fine. The staff was friendly and accomodating. I would stay here again.

Expensive and Rundown
By Woozle, 10/6/08
We stayed here recently. The room was expensive, I'm pretty sure I can't say the exact rate but it was well over 3 digits. The shower head was leaky and sprayed water from everywhere but where water was suppose to come out. The television on had 3 clear channels, the others faded in and out. If you looked carefully the dining room was filthy with dried catsup on the boothes and floor and the beautiful chandeliers had what looked like years of filth caked to them. The worst part (ok besides the price) there were dirty, half consumed dishes and food sitting against the wall of the hallway (room service?) that stayed there well over 24 and even as we left. Why didn't the cleaning crew remove these? Or was there a cleaning crew? This hotel has potential, but it failed miserably and it was so expensive.

Explore Other Hotels
By Patrick, 2/19/08
I recently stayed here, and it was an absolute disappointment. The hotel was undergoing renovations, and they had all of the guest entrances locked. This meant walking from the far end of the snowy parking lot to the office door, and then walking back the length of the building to my room (carrying all the luggage). What's even worse is the fact these doors were locked all night -- luckily I was on a ground floor, but I shudder to think what might have happened to the floors above me had there been a fire. The bathroom floor was dirty, cigarette burns were in the furniture (in a non-smoking room), rust stains were in the sink, and room service dishes were on the floor in the hallway for 24 hours. I really got the impression that nobody at Shilo cares about your concerns or your stay. Rather than wasting your time and money on this motel, stay at any of the other clean and affordable hotels in Idaho Falls. They might even leave exit doors unlocked.
