Description

The Chelsea ushers in a new era of Atlantic City chic, reimagining the fabled heyday of America's playground for the savvy modern traveler. The first nongaming hotel to grace the Boardwalk since the 1960s, the Chelsea captures imaginations by conjuring the long lost glamour of this seaside resort town where leisure and luxury come together in a blend of service, comfort, and alluring spaces. Intimate and exciting, the Chelsea exudes that rare sense of ease in a place that affords its guests the choice of pampered privacy, casual mingling and people watching, or an energized social scene. In its 20 stories, the Chelsea offers cozy fireplace lounges, happening bars, and poolside cabanas. Destinations within include two signature restaurants, a saltwater inspired spa and state of the art fitness center, and a pristine beach with the only full beach service in Atlantic City, providing towels, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and food and beverage service exclusively for guests of the Chelsea. Throughout the hotel, detail is highlighted by a design and spirit that recall the classic era of Atlantic City??s mythic past. From the dark wood paneling, colorful furniture, and dramatic fireplace of the main lobby to the intimacy of the Game Room to the pulsating vibe and cocktail culture of the Terrace Lounge, the Chelsea??s design is evocative and comfortable at the same time.

Great place to stay
By ,
We have stayed at may hotels in Atlantic City and this is by far the best for your money. Just across the street from the Tropicana. Just off the boardwalk/beach. Free parking. Great staff. The restaurant has good food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good deal for your money.

Loved the Chic decor
By ,
I came with family here towards the end of the summer, right when they were re-opening after renovating. The staff was friendly and I loved the decor and style of the hotel. The room was very nice also. The pool area and restaurant was not open yet, but the brochure for them looked nice. The view was nothing special, but the location is great.

We can't wait to go back
By ,
MY HUSBAND AND I STAYED THERE FOR OUR HONEYMOON ON SEPTEMBER 12TH THRU THE 15TH. IT WAS A NICE HOTEL. THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN. THE MAIDS DID A VERY NICE JOB OF KEEPING EVERYTHING NEAT AND TIDY. DUE TO US LEAVING OUR PRIMARY HONEYMOON SPOT OF VIRGINIA BEACH BECAUSE OF THE HURRICANE, WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AT THE HOLIDAY INN AND PLAN ON RETURNIG FOR A SECOND TRIP THIS CHRISTMAS. NOTE: TO ANYONE PLANNING ON VISTING VIRGINIA BEACH, DO NOT STAY AT THE DOLPHIN INN IT IS AN ABSOLUTE DUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!

More than we expected
By ,
We like the entire hotel. Our room was so clean and neat. The restaurant was in the hotel and the food was delicious! The staff were friendly and very professional. We felt at home. We were close to the boardwalk and the casino's.

Don't pass it up
By ,
Just returned from Holiday inn AC. Booked an awesome package through them and everything was GREAT! The hotels breakfast buffet was great. Comp tickets to the Tropicanas show and their buffet were great too. Don't pass up a chance to experience AC at an affordable rate. Downside...not much except one of the elevators was broken while we were there so you had to wait a couple minutes for the other two. Have Fun! V.V.

Great Hotel!!!
By ,
My girlfriend and I went to Atlanic City for a 3 day getaway. When looking online for a place to stay the Cheldea Hotel caught my eye. I wanted a place on the boardwalk but didn't want to stay in a Casino. I also wanted a place with syle and class but not stuffy. The Chelsea superseded all my expectations. The front desk ( Kevin and ooh I forger her name , she was great too) was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were beautiful and clean not to mention a great view. This place is well worth checking out. I only wish the Spa and pool was open to at least 11:00pm. I will definately recommend the Chelsea hotel to all my friends.

DIRTY! NASTY!
By ,
must rent by the hour! Is this a by the hour hotel? Very dirty! If you are cat lover request a room on the 2nd floor.. We believe they used the floor as a toilet.. The urine smell was horrible. The other room we reserved the tub had not been clean... An extremely hairy person used it before us and the hotel felt it was not important enough to clean it. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone for anything but to close it down.

Very Nice Hotel But ...
By ,
This year, however, they let me down. My room's HVAC (air conditioning) unit was not operating properly when I checked in, but I didn't realize at first. I turned down the thermostat and left for the rest of the day, and when I returned, the room was still 78 degrees. I turned off the HVAC, let it sit for a while, and then restarted it. Sure enough, the room started to cool, and when I went to sleep, it was a comfortable 73 degrees (with thermostat set to 70, as I like a cold room). I woke up at 6 a.m. to a 78 degree room but had to leave for my activities before I could report it. When I returned at 9 pm, I did report it to the front desk and was told, "I'll have someone from engineering up there immediately." No one showed up, so at midnight, I re-cycled the thermostat again and went to bed. I woke up to a 76 degree room at 5 a.m. and checked out. I complained that the room had been without air conditioning for two days and was told to call the manager, Gary after 9, when he would be in. I called Gary and was sent to his voice mail around 11 a.m. . I left a detailed message and asked him to call me back. The next day, around 4:30 p.m., I called back and told Gary I was sorry he hadn't seen a way to call me. He said he had been in meetings all afternoon the day before. I told him I'm sure his meetings all day "today" had been rough on him as well. The long and short of it was that Gary said he would leave a note in my file, and the next time I stay at The Chelsea, he will upgrade my room. At the very least, I was thinking there should have been a certificate for at least one night's stay at no charge, but Gary did not offer anything like that. I'm very disappointed--NOT in The Chelsea, because let's face it: things like this happen. It's how the management of The Chelsea RESPONDED to it that was disappointing.
