Sheraton San Jose, Milpitas

We held a Toastmasters District 4 Conference at this location, with over 200 attendees. We filled the hotel's meeting room and banquet hall to capacity with the crowd, at times with standing room only. Staff was helpful, accomodating, and reasonably quick for a crowd this size. Our only beef is that the breakfast spread did not seem to be enough for the number of people we ordered for. Otherwise, the facility quited our purposes, though if we expect larger turn-out next time, we'd have to go elsewhere.

The Sheraton San Jose is a comfortable hotel, and has a nice pool area. The hotel itself is older, and consequently, not as nice as some other hotels in the same price range in the area. However, it is a reasonable price regardless. The beds in the room are **fantastic**, but the rooms only ok. The High Speed connections at the Sheraton (at time of my last stay) was awful. The wireless barely worked, and the ethernet was also slow. Was unable to work from hotel effectively. The restaurant is more expensive than other hotels in the area, probably due to the Sheraton Name, and the restaurant didn't really appeal to me. The bar, however, is ok. There is plenty of parking, and the staff are very friendly. The local gift shop has many necessary items, but is more overpriced than other hotel gift shops. Hotel is close to Cisco Systems, Maxtor, The Great Mall, I880, and the shops and restaurants of McCarthy Ranch.

I was really surprised with great (okay, low) price for brand name quality hotel! Stayed there a couple days in June and enjoyed huge swimming pool and room service (food was yummy). Wish my company can send me there more often.

Our room was clean, quiet and priced right for us. The breakfast was good the next morning. I left my digital camera in room and it was returned to me the next week by mail. We were totally satisfied with the accomendations we had.

You are paying for the location. It is an old hotel that charges rates higher than the newer hotels further North on McCarthy. If you are not going right next door the next morning, then go to the new properties in the general area and save some money.

Nice clean place to stay. They are located near the Great Mall and 10-15 mins away fom the Winchester Mystery House. The staff are also kind and simple to deal with. I would stay there again.
