Motel 6, Westminster

We stayed here December 2007 for 6 nights. Our original room appeared to be typical Motel 6 but the toilet wouldn't flush. We reported this at 4;00 pm and were assured it would be fixed. Came back at midnight and it wasn't. We were moved to another room where the carpet was burned clear through the carpet and pad to the floor. Room stunk like very stale smoke. We are not usually bothered by a slight smoke smell as we carry air freshner plug-ins!! We returned to the office to ask for an inhabitable room and the rude clerk would barely come out of the office back room to speak to us. We finally got another room where there was no water in the sink. Finally that got fixed. We told the staff repeatedly we were checking out on Monday. Every day we had to have our keys reset for the room. On Sunday night we returned to the motel and all our things were in the lobby and some of them were damaged. They had gotten the checkout date wrong! Anaother rude clerk told us there were no rooms for that night. That was ridiculous since the lot was empty. We finally moved back into our room for the night. We were in Long Beach for the Eukanuba Dog Show and there were no other rooms or we would've been in one. The staff was rude or ineffective. The manager was nice but couldn't care less about our problems. They did comp two nights finally, but this was too little, too late. DO NOT STAY HERE IF IT MEANS YOU HAVE TO SLEEP IN YOUR CAR! We log several thousand friving miles every year showing dogs and have never had this experience. This place is great for nobody for any reason.
