Wonderful Father's Day Weekend
By ,
From our first contact with Raeann by email to book our stay, to our checking out the last day we were well taken care of. The staff were friendly and helpful. The two cottages were just perfect for our son and his wee family, and my daughter, her spouse and my husband and I. We went for walks and our grandkids beach combed, we played Bocci, badminton and swam in the gorgeous big indoor pool. We barbecued, had a bonfire twice down by the' waters edge and the children had loads of fun on the playground and watching the rabbits. We sat out on the lovely grass in the sun,, looking at the view and ate our meals at picnic tables and chairs provided What a great spot to relax! Everyone enjoyed themselves. Now if you are looking for spa like bathrooms and hotel like furniture and beds, you are not going to find it here. These are rustic cottages and in looking at website prior to trip, they were just like those presented And we enjoyed them just the way they were. There was ample room , the kitchen was well supplied and there was lots of clean bedding available. And you could just throw open the windows and breathe fresh air. We also got to the fish market at the Marina and had a lovely homemade seafood dinner for Father's Day. We would recommend this resort for an old fashioned way to spend a lovely weekend. . Family members said that they would definitely return again. Maybe another family tradition has begun. Meryl and Linda Ralph & Family

Give it a miss in the springtime!
By ,
My son's first question on arrival was "What are they resorting to?" We were there in the "not mentioned in the brochure" herring roe season. The stench permeating the entire area was horrible, but luckily it was only present from mid-morning to early evening, although one of the reasons I booked there was because it appeared very fresh-airsy cabin-in-the-woodsy. However, the odor was so bad I did end up sending my teenage son home a day early, as it was making him sick (not that he minded missing out on the bonding time). And it definitely curtailed the desire to get out and explore. The queen size beds were somehow smaller than the standard queen I have at home; although it was fine for me, my not-overly-tall husband's feet hung off the end. I had my young grandson stay the last night, so tried to pull out the hide-a-bed for him. It jammed half-way out, and then we had to literally shove, wrestle, pound and beat it to get it back in. The struggle was youtube-able! The cabin shower trickled water, and the shower stall was extremely small. All in all, it was not good value for the money while we were there, but perhaps in the summer, if the air is breathable and you want the rustic experience, it improves.
