“Great Hotel and Location”
By Adam, 2/21/12
We spent 2 nights here and were impressed with the reasonable rates. The room was plenty big (superior queen) and the bed was super comfortable. Best of all it was CLEAN! Restaurants across from hotel entrances on 29th and 30th street were very good. Yes, lobby does need better lighting (especially if you're over 30 years old). Coffee in the room would also be a welcome addition. We would definitely stay again.

“wouldn't stay here again”
By Distra, 4/20/11
This is a bit simple, but clean redundant who do not go to New York to stay in the hotel. Check in was quick and efficient. The room was well with the size of a decent bathroom. All very clean with daily maid service. This hotel enjoys an ideal location for trips to town. Its proximity to one of the few subway lines were a good way to get around. Only a few blocks from the Empire State Building and Macy's. Is it possible to go to Central Park from the hotel. There is a nice little store / cafe / deli across the road makes a good breakfast at a very reasonable price.

“Our New New York Favorite!”
By Danial, 4/19/11
I went to New York for a conference to be held at the Waldorf. I had no interest in this agreement under ground, preferring a more intimate experience and interesting, especially since I put my wife with me.We arrived just before a snowstorm. Our room on the 9th floor overlooked the Thirty thirty hotel a wonderful romantic landscape. It was modern, bright, clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel building is an attraction, renovated with great taste. And the park is also home to the beautiful main New York Public Library, which is worth a visit and had a very interesting exhibition of manuscripts.

Courteous and friendly staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/14/11
From the second you walk in your treatment extremely well. Very simple furniture mature. I could have stayed at the hotel all weekend and had a good time. The "Reading Room" on the floor Both are available 24 / 7 with cakes, fruit and beverages. The restaurant on the ground floor is clearly popular with locals. The bar on the fourteenth floor is fun and lively. The location is excellent. Grand Central Terminal, Empire State, Madison Square Gardens and of course the New York Public Library are all within walking distance. Pillows and duvets are really low. The wireless service is strong everywhere. Business center is free. Can not fault.

WORST HOTEL EVER
By Caro Y, 2/5/09
Can't we give a ZERO star rating????? I understand that New York hotels are supposed to be small, but this was ridiculous. The hotel's website should be banned for false advertisement. The room smelled like sewage, the windows didn't close properly (my stay was during a snow storm!), the room was quite old, and the front desk was TERRIBLE! The hotel's employees are unfriendly and they seem quite depressed (somewhat how the room made us feel). Also, the website had a special of free breakfast at the restaurant next door and the front desk girl (named Daniela) did not fix the problem and was rude on top of it all. Don't be fooled. The room/hotel is NOT worth it.

Rude Staff
By Kristin, 4/22/07
The staff had booked the reservation incorrectly, and then were very rude. We asked to move into the type of room we had requested, had to try three rooms before we got one for the correct number of people. The staff at the front desk were not willing to accept responsibility for the problem, and never apologized for the mistake. All in, it took 90 minutes to be put in a reasonable room (still not the type we had requested) and we were told there was no manager on staff who could help us resolve the situation. The rooms were dirty and small. We asked for towels and never received them. Overall, the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

Terrible waste of money
By Yabba-dabba-doo, 12/19/06
12/2/06 Clean. Old furniture. Sardine like room-the room was literally 7x8 feet. . Room was near elevator - it might as well been in the hallway. After getting back to the room at 11PM, I heard every person until 3PM and again beginning at 7:30AM. When the help arrived at 9AM, all they did was complain about how bad a place the hotel was! The front desk was uncooperative. Never again.

dirty dirty not thirty thirty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/06
What an awful place to stay. The room was never serviced properly there was an inch thick of dust on the picture frames, staines on the lamp shade and riped wallpaper I'm sure there were things living in the carpet as on the second morning I had been bitten on the arm by something in the night. Complained to the reception staff twice but nothing was done about it. The only good thing about this place is the location.

Terrible Staff!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/06
We recently stayed at this hotel and it was a terrible experience. The hotel itself is decent however the staff we encountered were terrible. Both Gentlemen working the front desk obviously hated their jobs and became extremely annoyed each time we approached them with a question. The hotel does not offer wireless internet but does offer two computers in the lobby that you can insert money in and use to supposedly access the internet. After inserting money into both computers and not being able to access the internet I approached the front desk and explained what had happened. I was very rudely informed that they couldn't help me and I could call the number on the computer. I told them that I just needed to access my e-mail account for approx. 2 minutes to get some important information and I was advised that it wasn't their prob. and I could go up the street to an internet cafe. This hotel has no parking and no bell staff to help with luggage (although there were 2 staff behind the front desk doing nothing). The attitude that we got from the front desk staff at this hotel was truly unbelievable. It was especially disappointing because we had stayed at a marriot the night before and had a delightful time. Do not stay here if you like to be around staff who actually know how to smile!!!

This NOT the best hotel ever.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/06
I am a software consultant road warrior and I have traveled and stay at many places through out the US. I travel about 85% of the time for business. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of service and enthusiasm by the staff. The "Standard" room was a major disappointment with NO desk to work from in the evening; it was very small room just big enough for a queen size bed. The hotel does not provide wireless internet connection and the bathroom is awful. The bed was stiff as a board; I should have slept on the floor. And no room service. The hotel looks as though, it was converted from an apartment to a hotel with some of the 'guest' living there. I did notice someone with a 'cat' on the premises, along with a 'bike' in their room, and a strange odor as, I walked passed towards my room. If you are looking for comfortable quality hotel with exceptional service don't come here. The only reason that I stayed here was because my office 'pre-paid' my lodging expense. Otherwise, I would have stayed at the Hilton down the street.
