I have been to Monterey before and I've never stayed at the "Victorian Inn" and yet we are planning on going back soon and guess where we are stayin? Nothing but thumbs up.Clean,Spacious,Just an all around good place to stay,From check in to check out i have NO complaints..I will be returning,"if they have the space".

Comfortable,memorable experience.

No complaints whatsoever. We arrived early and were allowed to check in even though room not yet ready. Took a 10 min. walk to Aquarium and got back to hotel just in time for complimentary wine/cheese reception. Our 2nd floor courtyard room was spacious, clean with balcony and fireplace. Good shower and comfortable bed. Walked back down to Aquarium area and had a wonderful dinner. Great continental breakfast. Came across a small fresh seafood market on Foam Street during our walks and they were kind enough to ice down our purchase for trip back . This was a perfect overnight stay in Monterey. Highly recomment this hotel!

Great location, great value, wonderful staff!

We loved our 3rd floor suite with a fireplace. It was perfect for the chilly evenings. The room was very large and clean. Centrally located near places we wanted to visit...walked everywhere. We'd go back again.

GOOD VALUE

GREAT LOCATION ONLY SHORT WALK TO TOWN. ALTHOUGH ROOM WAS CLEAN, STRONG SMELL OF URINE IN ELEVATOR. THEY COULD OFFER A LITTLE MORE ON THEIR AFTERNOON WINE AND CHEESE. BREAKFAST IS REGULAR CEREAL, MUFFINS, FRUIT, COFFEE, JUICE. OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THE HOTEL WAS THEY HAVE THE WORST WIRELESS CONTECTION OF ANY HOTEL WE HAVE EVER VISITED AND BECAUSE OF THAT I WOULD PROBABLY NOT STAY THERE AGAIN. SINCE WE USE OUR COMPUTERS FOR BUSINESS WHEN TRAVELING.

Good location

THE HOTEL WAS SATISFACTORY AND CERTAINLY HAD A GREAT LOCATION, BUT IT'S OLD AND THE ELEVATORS HAD A STRONG URINE SCENT (PETS ARE ALLOWED) AND THE HALLWAYS REEKED OF CLEANING SOLUTIONS.

Great place to stay!

The Victorian Inn was very convenient and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Many people in our group stayed here and none of us had any complaints. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Very Nice

Loved the location. Very clean. Pleasant, helpful staff. My only negative comment would be that they shouldn't charge for parking in their garage. When I called about getting a room, they mentioned they had parking but didn't mention they charged $12.50 for it. While not a lot of money, they should have mentioned it...Overall, a very positive experience and I would stay here again.

Can't wait to go back!

This place was wonderful. It was extremely clean, the room was spacious, and the staff was great. We took two dogs with us (a very large one and a small one) and both were very happy with the courtyard and the room. The continental breakfast was great, as was the wine and cheese in the afternoon. The only small complaint is that there wasn't a grass area for the dogs to do their business, but there were small grass patches along the sidewalk on the street. It would have been nice though to have a grass area right next to the rooms. We'll definetly stay there again, and we would highly recommend the in-room massages!

Relaxing, Romantic, and Reasonable

This is a great place to stay...simple and easy, yet elegant and charming. Very reasonalby priced. Cosey rooms and romantic atmosphere. And a cute little courtyard right outside ground-floor rooms. Stay here!

Just OK

Stayed at hotel sunday 1-23-2005 They gave us a room on third floor as "concierge " ; but never could figure out what that offered ? Caution : Before departing we ordered roll-away and they said it could not be brought to third floor, but that a window seat was almost as big as a twin bed and they would make that up as a bed for our 13 year old teen. Window seat was 24" width and the stiff smelly drapes were hanging right into it so the poor girl could not sleep there... Thank god we brought a sleeping bag as she just slept on the floor. Beds : they said two full but both seemed narrower ? and the featherbed pads did not make up for the poor mattress quality. Room was burning hot then really cold off and on all night but we could not affect it with the thermostat - seemed to be acting on it's own in a preset manner. The victorian theme is misleading. The lobby is in a victorian home looking part of building but rest of property and all rooms are in standard motel / hotel buildings. Victorian decor is looking a bit shabby and old and dusty. VERY Close to Cannery Row / Aquarium - and it had a gas fireplace kids liked - a 4 on a 10 scale - but I think we'll try another place next time.
