Westgate Historic Williamsburg, Williamsburg

Yes, it was a lovely place to stay. Very convenient to all that Williamsburg has to offer. The only amenities this 'resort' has is an average pool. BUT, before you check out, be sure to have a manager inspect your room for any 'damage'. We were home for 3 weeks when we found a $200 charge on our credit card for 'damage' to the coffee table. Yes, there was a water ring on the wood, but it was there before we checked in. How dare they use our money to refurbish their resort!! They claim they are able to use the cc # that we gave them when we checked in well after we check out in order to upgrade their borderline rooms. We are obviously disputing this charge and will be monitoring our credit scores since they seem so free to post charges to our account.

I was highly disappointed when I booked a 5 day vacation thru Westgate Resorts, VA. They advised that they were booked but they could accomodate my request and book a room for me on their property called Heritage Inn. The Heritage had the same address as Westgate so I believed it can't be too bad if they are on the same property- not!!! Westgate was beautiful - a 3 or 5 star hotel and Heritage Inn was disgusting and was not even a half star motel! It was a bait and switch-- They went from Hotel standards to below Motel standards but claimed that Heritage Inn was our "Home away from home". When I opened the door to my room at Heritage, the smell literally knocked me backwards outside into the corridors- it was the worst smell I've ever smelled- it smelled like someone had a fecal matter fetish on top of vomiting and this was not cleaned from the rugs. The offensive odor made my stomach turn. There were bugs smashed on the walls and the bedding was torn, holy and dingy. The sofa had a big hole in it. This is not my home away from home- stay away from Heritate Inn if u don't want to endure the worst smell of your lifetime!! Westgate Resorts need to be ashamed to offer such horrible accomodations on their property- very misleading and they are living off their name b/c their motel was worse than a rathole!! After this nightmare, we checked in and checked out within the first 20 minutes of being in Heritage Inn, demanded our $ back and went to Holiday Inn down the street which felt more like my "Home away from Home" and it smelled refreshing and clean. We then began our vacation.

Westgate's HERITAGE INN - Where do I start? First of all do NOT believe the pixs on their website. It is a lie if you believe you will stay in the beautiful Westgate when you are booked for their TRASHY, SMELLY, DIRTY, UNKEPT Heritage Inn motel. This place is a DUMP! Second, my family and I booked four rooms through their agents directly and we were told the Heritage Inn is the exact same accomodation and level as the 'Westgate Hotels'. This is another LIE! The rooms smelled of rotted food in a refrigerator, there were bugs (who knows which kind) smashed on the walls, the sheets were worn and ripped AND dirty, the sofa had a hole in it, and bugs (dead and alive) were in the showers. We could not believe the horrible smells of the rooms. And I can not believe they actually expect anyone to stay in their dump. It was horrible. We demanded our $$ back and stayed up the street in a much better hotel. If you have reservations here, do yourself a favor and CANCEL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
