Excellent Stay

I stay in this hotel every time I visit the area. It's the best deal around. The Comfort Inn down the street costs more and is nowhere near as nice. The Super 8 right next to the Quality Inn has terrible service. The management has always been helpful when it comes to service and their rooms are very comfortable. The beds, pillows, and all the furniture seemed brand new. They also just built a pool which was great for the kids! The location is also great because it's only 20 minutes from VA Beach and about 10 minutes from Downtown Norfolk.

crack alley

Filthy, unsafe area, would not refund money even though we never got out of car in parking lot because no 24 hour notice, photos a Total misreprentation!! Went to another Choice Hotel that refers to this one as "crack alley" Construction seems to be going on but door wide open and parking lot activity appears to be illegal transactions. Rude management making money from people who believe website photos. contacting the Better Busines Bureau, my charge acct customer service and Choice Corporate offices.

July 2006 visit w/ my daughter

We requested a non-smoking room, which reeked of smoke. We were given a different room, but the 2nd room was not any better. The staff is rude (especially the female manager)& she was not willing to assist us. The next morning we learned that the room above us had regulars that worked nights. They were very loud. This place is a DUMP. They then charged me a 2nd night, eventhough we stayed at a different location. Do yourself a favor & do NOT stay at this hotel. Sally from Littleton, CO

If I could give this hotel less than a star....

Upon walking into this hotel we were smothered by the smell of mold. Walking into the bathroom I noticed that the back of the toilet cover was broken in a dangerous ridged pattern, and closing the door I was struck by a great deal of mold that had made its home on the back of the bathroom door. When we had first arrived house keeping had not cleaned our room yet, and so we decided to go to the labor day picnic, and to go to the hotel later that night. When we went to the lobby to tell them that the room was unsuitable and that we could not possibly stay there, we were told to come back the next morning. Going back the next morning we were told that we would still have to pay for the hotel room for the night that we didn't stay there. It was absolutely disgusting, and I would warn anyone possible to not stay there.

Another filthy hotel...

I believe this hotel has been taken over by different owners and is not representative of a typical Days Inn. It was dirty. The non smoking room smelled like smoke. The whole place was just gross and it'd be smart to avoid it.

I was born and raised in Portsmouth. This Days Inn is less than a mile from my parents. The location is superb for me when I come to visit. Other family members often stay there when visiting the city.

Don't stop here!

The staff was rude. The room was filthy. The bathtub had not been cleaned, there was hair and some nasty brown stuff on the shower curtain. The toilet stopped up. The light bulb was burnt out. The pillows were lumpy and had holes in them. The blanket had been burned. This was a disgusting place to stay. If this was representative of Day's Inn I'll never stay there again.

don't stay here

no response to our requests of lack of microwave, bugs in the room, too few towels, hair dryer didn't work. We stayed 6 days for business, could not change hotels, and the people at the hotel were not helpful, nor service oriented. To even get someone on the phone is an effort, go elsewhere, we will next time
