Awesome Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/08
This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Complementary full breakfast.........and complimentary "light" dinner. Unbelievable! There was nothing light about the lasagna dinner - - it was filling and fabulous. Close to metro, large room (we had a one bedroom suite), great price. Wish Clarion had more like this one!!!

Will return to this place soon!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/07
The service was excellent, the suite was elegantly decorated, clean and comfortable. We booked a 3 bedroom suite and was beyond amazed at the amount of room we had. We had 6 people in our party which included 3 small children and a teenager and the extra space was needed by our group. Having two bathrooms was a help too since it's harder to find adjoining rooms anymore. Each bedroom had it's own privacy (walls and doors) and the master contained the second bath. Ample closet space too. The room was quiet and we didn't experience any allergies while there. I had been nervous because we never stay in hotels that allow pets or smoking. We have food allergies and are not able to eat out in restaurants so having a full size kitchen helped us too. The location is 3/10 of a mile from the Courthouse metro station. The hike up to the metro station is very steep if you walk out of the front of the hotel. It was too hard on the children to go up the hill. So we used the back exit off the 1st floor which at least eliminated the first steep grade. Received this advice from the hotel staff. The hotel shuttle will take you to the metro as well but we didn't want to wait for it. The only problem we had was that the maids apparently do not check drawers while cleaning and we not only found food in the refrigerator bottom drawers, but found personal clothing items in another drawer that was left. I also wished that the hotel had a pool. The Hilton across the street does. Otherwise, a very wonderful stay. For us, it was well worth the big bucks we paid for that particular room. If you have less than 6 in your party you would probably be just as happy with a smaller suite and pay less. The internet downstairs is available for guests to use and one can use it for as long as desired unless someone is waiting and then the limit is 15 minutes. The rooms though are equipped if you bring a laptop. They also have some sort of keyboard attached to the television set where you can access the net for a daily fee. If you are looking for nightlife I would suggest Georgetown near the campus. It's very busy down there at night with so many restaurants and bars etc..to choose from.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to DC
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/07
We found this hotel to be extremely nice. The rooms are comfortably large with a mini-kitchen. This came in handy for refrigerating our water, soft drinks or etc. purchased from a nearby store You can brew your own coffee (provided daily with the cleaning) and read the complimentary newspaper before while getting ready to enjoy the "continental" breakfast. Breakfast was actually a filling buffe as were the dinners served the first three nights of the week. The ARC is located very near the Metro which is a great means of transportation to all of the sites in DC and Virginia. Any reviews prior to 2007 can be ignored as this hotel has had the entire interior renovated from the updated HVAC system, plumbing and southwestern motiff decorating. We lucked out with this hidden gem which recently re-opened under the new ownership. Pam Dougan

Not bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/05
Close to Metro Subway. My family and I were there for three nights to tour DC as part of our vacation. Not bad for a place to sleep. Rooms were small and only 12 or so TV channels with poor picture quality. Shuttle service to Metro was very accomodating.

nice hotel at good location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/05
It is not the best, but location and cleanliness is an asset for this fairly large hotel. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Good beds. Two in-hotel restaurants. Good restaurants, indian, thai, western food shops around. Close metro station is also an asset. No shopping center. AMC movie theater is closeby.Average complimentary breakfast is provided. Staffs are helpful and fairly patient. Hey, how much more do you want with 90 bucks in Washington D.C area? Can't complain. Recommended.

Pleasant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/05
The hotel is a decent place to stay in. The rooms are clean and it's about a 15-20 minute walk to the Courthouse Metro. Everything was fine, but there was nothing terribly impressive either.

Good for long stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/24/04
I reserved a suite room in this hotel for my parents. The room was much bigger than we had expcted, and clean enough. It was located only 5 minutes from a metro station by walk. My parents were more than satisfied with the place and price

Location Location Location
By Ken, 06/16/04
Prices rise with the area demand, I have paid as little as 80.00/night and as high as 150.00/night, the food is often very good if you get there early and a good value. I have stayed there at least 20 times in the last 10 years, and never had a problem with anything except I was booked into a smoking room twice and had to sleep with the windows open wide for fresh air.

Need Customer Service Training
By Ronald, 05/02/04
What seemed like a great bargain, developed into a nightmare. I called the day before arrival to make sure that my room had been booked(used Expedia). I had reserved three nights and they had me down for one. After explaining that the room had been booked and paid though expedia, the desk person immeadiately stated that I would have to talk with Expedia and cut short the converation, but not before saying that the hotel was full. I contacted Expedia, which is another disaster, and recieved all the numbers and was told that a copy of my itenary was faxed to the hotel.

On the day of arrival (11:00 PM) I was told that I was not in the system. After twenty minutes or so, the desk person finally finds the fax and I am finally registered. I was assigned a room that was on the furthest part of the property, not being familiar with the area I had to walk at 11:30 at night to find my room. Lighting was poor and you had to look hard for the room numbers, fortunately an Arlington Police officer assisted me in locating the room.
I coould go on and on, but I think you get the point!
