The location cannot be beat! It's an absolutely beautiful cove, lovely beach & everything you need (activity wise) right at the resort. The cabins are quaint & clean & well equipped. The important thing you should know is that the highway goes right behind the resort so the closer to the water, the better because the highway is LOUD. Some lodge rooms are right on the highway so be sure to ask exactly where your room or cabin is located and avoid anything near the highway if you are at all sensitive to noise. Also for the best info you should call directly to the resort, not the reservation line because the reservation line people (in my experience) have never been to the resort & only know what is listed on their info sheets. The staff at the resort has always been great & we've enjoyed staying there for 22 years now!

We just got back from a mini-vacation at Zephyr Cove. Stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin 15. We planned this trip last second and got what we felt was a fair rate given the circumstances. The cabin was great! It was a two bedroom, full bath, full kitchen. The upstairs loft was perfect for our kids (5 and 3). They loved having a little "playhouse" of their own. We had a gas fireplace, which at first we very bummed about, we thought - oh man we want a real fire. But it was perfect. No fuss, turned on an off with a flick of a switch and was just as nice. In fact after having it for 2 nights. I think I preferred it. The cabins are very close to the beach. Very beautiful setting. We came up to go sledding. We didn't think there was really any place to do this on the property so we went to Hansens in S. Lake Tahoe for a couple hours. This was the perfect getaway for us. We felt secluded enough and close enough to the lake to feel like we were out in the woods, yet just down the road on 50 was a really great safeway grocery store and we could get anything we needed. The place was very clean, not even a hint of smoke smell. The fridge was a little dirt, looked like it hadn't been wiped clean since the last visitors. The bathroom was the only thing that maybe looked iffy. It was clean, and nothing bothered me, but it was the only thing that maybe showed it some "age" or use to it. My only other knocks against the place were - there was an included dvd player in the room (we did not request it and I'm not sure if it was supposed to be included) but you could not hook it up to the tv (it had no a/v connection only coaxial) :-( that was a slight bummer at night for the kiddies, but no big deal, we weren't there to watch tv. The other would be it did advertise free internet access. I brought my laptop hoping I could get some work done in the evenings. I could not connect to any wireless connection available there. Now to be fair, i never called for assistance or bothered to figure out the problem. There was also nothing in the room or the room guidebook that even mentioned internet. Again didn't matter too much to me, we were busy! (although if I could have got the work done, we might have stayed another day!) This was our first visit to the tahoe area and it was short but we had so much fun. This was such a great find. We researched and researched places in the s. lake tahoe for days trying to find what we wanted and stumbled onto zephyrs cove. So glad we did. We pass all those places - lakeland village, embassy suites etc. that got good reviews and I'm sure they are great, but you are in the thick of all those skiers and the heart of s. lake tahoe. Not what we wanted. This was just enough off the beaten path that to get to that was only 10 minutes away. Would I recommend this place to a best friend? You bet, my only hesitation would be I wouldn't want to give out my new secret find! ;-) We are seriously already planning on making this an annual adventure for us and would also love to try coming for a stay in the summer. Everyone in my family, including the dog... (and friends) love Zephyr Cove Resort. The water is perfect, cabins are clean & have everything you need, the staff is great! Wonderful place for a any size get together. The rates could take a break from going up every year, other than that, Zephyr Cove is a vacation spot you'll love and enjoy for years.

This is a great place to stay in Tahoe. Quiet and really nice staff. Only problem on our last stay is that Cabin #13 fireplace did'nt work well and at times not at all... Overall really enjoyed vacation- we have stayed here several years in a row. Gift shop has really nice stuff.

Cute cabins in woods, short walking distance from a nice beach. Studio cabins are small with no counter space, 1 full bed 1 full sofa-bed, well equiped with Microwave, frigde, hair dryer, coffee machine, iron. Resort offers restaurant with American food (a tad pricey) and grill on the beach. It offers lake cruise to Emerald bay and snowmobile trips. Larger cabins offer fireplace. Lake view not worth the extra cost. Studio cabin has wall heater with fan which makes some noise when working.

We had cabin 22 which flooded since a pipe broke under the sink. We also had to deal with the shower head which was not letting enough water out. Maintenance had to come out twice to fix the problems. We were not offered any compensation for our troubled stay.

Nice accomadations. Very cozy with a nice view of the lake and not far at all from the Heavenly Village.
