The Mansfield Hotel, New York

This was our first time in NYC and I was concerned about NYC's bed bug problem. I read reveiws and searched for hotel locations where as a first time visitor I could easily find my way around. This hotel's staff was excellant, we arrived around 9:30 at night, exhausted from a train ride from Chicago, they check us in quickly, gave us our complimentary breakfast passes for the week and a six pack of bottled water to take up, we were greeted every morning for breakfast, not charged for a couple extra things that our passes didn't cover and our room was very very clean, water pressure a little low, not too bad though, this hotel is an old building, but spotless! Our room (a junior suite) had two televisions, a fold out couch in one section and the bedroom had a nice queen bed, the room divided with very nice glass, flower etched folding doors, very pretty, I highly recommend this hotel and would definately stay again, we were on the 11th floor, no noise at all, no problems at all, it contained a small refrigerator fully stocked with candy, pop or alcohol if you wanted it with a little room for our own beverages and left over cheesecake--lol. Two thumbs up for the Mansfield!!!

Loved the location on 44th St between Grand Central Station and Time Sq. A easy walk to both. Clean with a staff that cares. We arrived to early to get our room but they stored our luggage while we checked out the town. The Red Flame and Figaro's are on the same block for food and the New York athletic club is across the street . Like most hotels in New York the rooms are small but we spent little time in the hotel. Light sleeper? Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel.

This hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk to the theater, restaurants and Times Square. We had heard the rooms in NYC were small, but we were comfortable here. The decor was nice and the room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. Would stay here again.

We stayed at the Mansfield for two nights on 12/5 and 12/6. This hotel is really great and I highly recommend it and stay there again in the future. We stayed in a renovated room, complete with a Dell Plasama TV and and an iHome to play and charge your iPod. The room was actually a good size one, but it lacked closet and drawer space, and we ended up using the window seat as shelf for our clothes. Since the AC was a window unit, there was a bit of draft, but we just asked them to crank the heat up and it was fine. The bed was very comfortable and had a great warm down to keep out the cold. The service was great and the staff was super friendly. They offer a fabulous complimentary "continental" breakfast, which is so much more than continental with egss, bacon, sausages and potatoes plus fruit, baked goods, cereal, etc. In their cute library in the lobby, there's a multi-thousand-dollar cappuccino/latte maker, which is also complimentary and can be used 24/7. A great touch esepcially when the weather is as cold as it was last week. They also have a very nice complimentary 24-hr. gym, too. BTW, the entire hotel is has free wi-fi and they have a free business center just in case you don't have your own laptop. Really very very nice over all.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in this hotel. To our surprise there was breakfast every morning which made it super-convenient!!! The rooms are what I would expect in NY style. Modern and very New York. (small, compared to places here in dallas) This hotel was VERY QUIET...no noise...and we had a room w/ an alley view...and we had no sunlight - which we really enjoyed!!!! The bed was comfortable...and the bathroom was cute. It is in a great location within walking distance of everything. We hit grand central for most of our subway rides. Times Square was just down the street and so was 5th Ave shopping. We enjoyed our stay very much...definitely worth a looksie!!!!

Nestled mid-block on 44th Street between 5th & 6th Avenue in Manhattan, the hospitality is immediately apparent. I was greeted at the door by enthusiastic and pleasant fellows who will show you to the front desk, tote your luggage, hail taxi's and provide an umbrella should it rain. Desk staff know the City well and freely share locations of special restaurants, shopping areas and more. Beautifully restored, the architectural detail of the past has been spared and enhanced. Rooms are compact and beautifully appointed with art, a safe, and plenty of storage. Staff see that you're every request is efficiently handled. I loved the cozy and comforable feel of my room and the lovely intimate bar just off the lobby. Close to everything - Time Square to the left, 5th avenue to the right...great Saturday morning street faire and walking distance to Bryant Park. The Mansfield is quiet, safe, special and affordable. Book online for even more savings. I'll be back!
