\"Low-end Lodging...\"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/07
Our stay at this hotel was the most dissapointing part of our recent trip to the colorado mountains. The cabins at this hotel were complete with torn furniture, burnt our lightbulbs # 3, inoperative air conditioning, broken smoke detectors, broken window shades and showers with curtains that didn't fit across the shower....result: flooded bathrooms. In addition, the cabins are located on Main St. Aspen.. you hear trafic late into the evening as though it were in your room.
Most dissapointing was the fact that I'd thought I'd done dillegence when making the reservation the day before. I inquired with the front desk attendant via phone. I informed him that was looking for a "high end" property as it was my 20th wedding anniversary. His response to mw was "all property in Aspen is high end". Upon our actual arrival and inspection of the cabins (more than one) he would not allow us to cancel our reservation with out being charged one night's room. We paid almost $160 inc/tax only to wish we were somewhere else.
In my position, I have the opportunity to travel extensively. I will not return to this hotel or recommend to anyone.
