Please do not stay here!!
By ShaneA, 12/18/08
I honestly cannot believe I paid almost $500 a night for this hotel. My wife and I, who were in town on business, had the same experience we would have had at a $200 hotel. The concierge was absolutely useless - they were no help in getting us tickets to Cirque du Soleil, and the deskman even handed me the phone so he could answer another call while talking to the conceirge at the hotel near the show - completely inappropriate and unprofessional!! While checking out, which took forever because we got a charge for the bar which we never visited, I overheard at least 5 people complaining about their bills as well. One half of the hotel is also just above where taxis pick up, so be prepared for constant honking 24 hours a day. Other than the quest lounge (which was the one plus), no one's service was particularly outstanding nor were attitudes warm. The room was small, and there were other things I mentioned in the review they sent me but I can't remember, as I have blocked out the experience. The location was decent, but there are many other choices for far less in this wonderful city.

OK - But expensive food; Lots of Tipping
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/07
The hotel is quite fine. The price can be low on weekends. But, be prepared to tip lots of people (but the service is good). The one restaurant is very pricey for dinner. The waiter went out of his way to tell us that the crab cakes were great. But, they were hardly even OK. The breakfast buffet is a nice treat --- lots of stuff including fresh raspberries, maple syrup, etc.

DAMN THE SERVICE WAS GRADE A
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/05
THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME IN THIS HOTEL AND ALSO IN DC AND THE PEOPLE THERE MADE ME FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. THE ROOMS WAS CLEAN EVERYDAY. WHEN I WENT TO THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING I WAS HELPED RIGHT FAST. THE FOOD WAS ON THE CHAIN. I WILL GO BACK THERE IN A SECOND. AND THEN THE BEAUTIFUL FRONT DESK ATTENDENT SHE DESERVED A TIP FOR ALL THE STUFF SHE WAS GOING THROUGH. THERE WAS SO MUCH GOING ON THAT WEEKEND. THE MILLION MAN MARCH BEING ONE OF THEM. AND SHE HANDLED HER BUSINESS LIKE SHE KNEW WHAT SHE WAS DOING. WITH CLASS AND GRACE. TWO THUMBS UP

An Elegant Evening to Remember!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
The Renaissance Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Its clean and wonderfully lit. My best friend got married in the one of the ballrooms of this hotel. The wedding and reception all took place in the same room. Amazingly there was more than enough space and nothing seemed crowded. A few rooms were booked for wedding guest and everyone was more than happy with their reservations and suites. The staff on duty that night were professional and friendly. And all the facilities were clean and well maintained. It was a lovely evening and night to remember.

very nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
I stayed there with a friend while she was in town, and overall the hotel was very nice. I was impressed with bath and body works bath products being complementary in the showers. However, one thing I did not enjoy was the inconvienent hours on the pool and fitness center. After spending a long day exploring the city, it would have been nice to work off a little stress, but by the time you get back in, everything is already closed for the night!

Nice Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/05
Booked this hotel through Priceline. Bid rate of 92.00 the rooms were listed at 359.00 per night. It's blocks from China Town and it the middle of September I guess that's why they charge so much? The room was decorated nicley. Called ahead of time to ask for high floor and king size bed. Third Floor and 2 Double Beds. They both slept comfortably. The parking was pricey and I had to tell them they overcharged me. I would only consider staying at this hoel again if I were only paying the 94.00 dollards. The view was terrible I was able to see the middle of the outside of 3 buildings. But the room was clean and spacious.
