Proceed cautiously!

Treasure Mountain Inn is reasonably priced and well located at the top end of Main Street but it is loaded with stairs (and remember, you are at 10,000' altitude!). If that is a problem, forget this place now! We stayed in Building #2--with two bedrooms and 2 baths. The unit--#52--was spacious and recently redecorated, with 2 flat screens TV's, but if you like light, forget this unit! Dark walls and tiles add to the cave-like atmosphere--especially in the front bath. The lighting is the worst we have ever experienced. Apply make-up? Good luck. If you plan to cook much, forget it! The kitchen, while modern, is poorly equipped to handle much (i.e. no spatula or cookie sheets). The beds, while nicely appointed, are badly in need of new mattresses. Be prepared to fall into a deep hole in the center of each bed! We were awakened by noisy neighbors at 2:00am, and must say that one phone call to the front desk resulted in quick, no-nonsense action; the offenders were told to be quiet or leave immediately! That was a pleasant surprise because the front desk had not offered much in the way of friendly assistance when we checked in. Be aware that there is no pool (as mentioned in old literature); an attractive spa pool is all that is available. Maid service is good, but be prepared for the occasional bat on the walls in the hallway! Guess it comes with the mountains! Free, off-street parking is available. Maybe other units are a better bet. If price, space and location are your key issues, this place was acceptable... but go in with eyes wide open!
