Do not stay here!
By ,
Although the management greeted me politely, the rooms were not comfortable. The room I stayed in had a water leak on the bathroom sink that wet the carpet below and had a mold smell. The shower had very little water pressure making it an upleasant cold shower. The bathroom window had no locking mechanism. Upon arrival the heater in the room was not turned on and the wall unit and the window heaters were not enough to heat up this room.

Best deal in the city!
Staying at this place was an overall good experience. Its the cheapest place to stay in the area, and the conditions are decent; a good value. The management was really friendly and tried their best to make us comfortable. It was very close to the University of Utah and the VA hospital which I intended to visit.

Great Deal
By ,
I am glad to find this little Motel off Foothill drive because it is so close to the VA hospital. It is located about 5 minutes away. The rooms are clean and the management is very friendly. It is not a 5 star hotel but with the medical discount, I cannot complain. They have a indoor pool and spa and my grand kids just love it. You also get free wireless internet. Complimentary coffee and donuts.

Disappointed
By ,
The staff was nice and the bathroom had new tile but the carpets were stained, my non-smoking room had a cigarette burn on the sheets, and the air conditioner was loud. Overall, the motel was shabby, pool area run-down, parking area littered and not much for breakfast-we had to eat elsewhere.

Not what I expected
By ,
When we got there, it was not at all what I expected. We pulled into the back parking lot and got a look at the "pool". It was totally "ghetto" and I wouldn't go swimming there if someone payed me. We went into our room and although the bed was nice and clean, the whole room smelt like smoke. Of course it was a non smoking room, but it was so bad, we went and asked for another room. It was smoky too, but a little better. The 1970's style air conditioner in our room was very loud. Let's just say we left at 6:30 the next morning without eating their continental breakfast. Please do not take your kids there, they will be very dissapointed with the "pool".

Disappointing stay
By ,
I found the Skyline Inn on the internet when I was planning a trip to SLC. Although in the pictures it looked like an older building, it looked clean and respectable, and it was in a great location. When my husband and I arrived it was not at all what we expected. It looked fairly run down, and when we went to bed that night, (we had a room with two queen beds) one of the beds looked like the sheets hadn't actually been changed, and we were afraid to even touch anything after that. What really concerned us were the night activities. We came back late that night, and as we were parking, a group of two or three men and one woman were taking cameras and video equipment up to a room. There were all sorts of people coming and going all night to that room, but when we left early the next morning they were all gone - the parking lot was virtually empty. One can only imagine what goes on at the Skyline Inn at night. I sure didn't feel comfortable being there. Although the Skyline Inn is on a main street, its access and parking lot are somewhat secluded. If things like this concern you, then I caution you about staying at the Skyline Inn.

Where SLT visitors in-the-know go
By ,
Nice folksy type place. Popular with traveling skiers in-the-know and visitors needing easy access to very nearby University campus. Small pool plus good hottub both inside a warm greenhouse enclosure. Gererous self-serve breakfast of bagels, toast, cereal, juice, coffee, fruit, etc. Gas fireplace, updated ski reports and free use of computer w/ Internet access in guest lounge. Kind staff.
