Description

For affordability, convenience and old world charm, you can't beat this historic hotel. Located next to the Moore Theater , which features a variety of artists and musicians, the hotel offers rooms with a view at great prices by downtown Seattle standards. The historic Moore Theater is high on the list for ghost sightings, so if you are lucky you may even experience something extraterrestrial. If nothing is going on at the theater, you're sure to find something to do downtown or in Belltown , both within walking distance. Or hang out at the Nite Lite Lounge and sample the selection of local microbrews.

Wonderful Stay at a Great Location.
By ,
I liked the Location of the Hotel, very closeby to Pike's Market, the Pier, walking distance to the shops and The Space Needle. The Hotel Staff was very helpful and polite. Parking wasn't too bad considering it's just around the block. Hotel room was clean and very nice. Shared bathrooms was good, it was clean. The only thing, be careful with the Hot water in the bathroom, it gets super HOT! At keast on the 6th Floor where we stayed. You can literally use it for Cup-O-Noodles and it will cook it just fine. No Joke! Lastly, the only thing I can say is about the noise from the street below. Sometimes it can be loud, but if you have enough beers, you'll sleep just fine!

Excellent Value, Excellent Location
By ,
The Moore is not only a Seattle landmark hotel, it is an excellent value and excellent location for Seattle stays. Only blocks away from Pike's Place Market, excellent downtown shopping, Mariners, Seahawks, waterfront, etc., Rooms were recently renovated with a charm and warming finish. They were always very clean. The value is unbeatable. And check out the Nite Life bar right off the lobby...an added bonus. Staff were respectful, helpful, and always willing to offer suggestions to improve our stay and visit to the finest city in the Northwest.

Old time Charm ... Perfect
By ,
We stayed in Seattle the night before we left on our Alaskan cruise. My husband likes affordable locations and this was it! It was beautiful inside, not your typical fancy hotel style but it had old time historic charm. I believe the hotel is a historic landmark as well. The rooms were slightly outdated but it still had charm. The bathrooms and rooms were very clean, in fact I could smell the bleach... But I wasn't freaked out by this. (We did have our own bathroom as well!) BE SURE to call them to book your room. I found out that when you book online (from any site) you end up paying extra. The lady at the front desk told me I could have saved 10-20 dollars had I called directly. The hotel was very close to everything we wanted to do, we were able to walk everywhere with no problem. The block surrounding the hotel does get a little scary but everyone left us alone. Highly recommended if you are looking for an affordable place to stay.

Worst Service in All of Seattle
By ,
I booked a room at the Moore for a night. On the website, while booking, one of the very few amenities was free parking, a very huge bonus for downtown. When we pulled up to the hotel loading zone, I asked the front desk person where we could park. He said they actually don't have free parking but do have an agreement for parking up the street at a garage. I asked him if it was free because the website said it was. He, very tersely said " Its not on the website." He turned his computer screen towards me and said "Where did you see it?" I told him while I was booking the room it was under amenities- he responded that I was wrong. I asked him if the parking was secure because we have had our car broke into right across the street. His response in a very hostile tone was "I just went over that with you." I told him there was no reason to be assy. He promptly canceled my reservation and told me to go stay somewhere else. I apologized to him-(assy probably wasn't the best word to use but it did best describe his attitude)-he was the one being rude to me- and asked him to please not cancel my reservation. He told me to leave. Apparently, The Moore Hotel doesn't believe in customer service and thinks that hostility is the way to treat people. The moral of the story is, I didn't stay at the Moore but my review is based on its front desk employee who was rude, hostile and should be let go. There are thousands of people looking for jobs, why would a business keep one who loses customers?

Hit and Miss
By ,
The location is great close to Pike Place Market and shopping in all directions. Although there are a fare share of "street people" in the area no one bothered us. The hotel entry way and lobby look rundown with cracked tiles and sparse tired furniture. The maids speak limited English so communication can be a problem unless your Spanish is good! The cable was a problem there was a short in the system and the staff while pleasent are very CASUAL when it comes to complaints.BE WARNED there is extensive remodeling of the rooms in progress and the shower and sink water lines are reversed.Hot (red)is actually COLD while Blue (cold) is actually hot. I found out the hard way. When I mentioned it to Ed at the desk his comment..."Thats just how the faucets came. Peolpe figure it out soon enough".I know I did when I was hit with scalding water in the shower. The pillows are flat I asked for new ones and they did oblidge.Ckeck in is not till 3pm so if you aren,t in a hurry for your room they do lock up your luggage while you explore the city.Beds are OK nice big room. No AC. Carol Baer Napa,CA

The Moore is a Great Deal
By ,
My friends and I are all professionals in our 40's who can afford to stay in the costlier Seattle hotels. We always stay at the Moore for a number of reasons, primary among them being the value for money. The place is very very clean contrary to what anyone else might say, and you can open the windows to get fresh air, a rare characteristic in most hotels. They have a great deal where you can rent a suite for about 160 US per night. For 3 or 4 of us this made the stay especially cheap, and left us plenty of cash for the great shopping and food in Seattle. They also have small fridges for juice, wine whatever. If you are seeking the hotel experience, do not stay at the Moore. It is at best a good, safe, cheap place to stay in a pricey city. I also don't suggest staying more than two nights because the absence of amenities (no room service, no pool, nothing really)gets on your nerves after a couple of nights. Otherwise, get your butt over to Seattle and rock on at the Moore.

What a great value and location
By ,
I recently stayed three nights at the Moore. The staff was friendly and helpful at check-in and anytime I had a question. The location can't be beat. You can pretty much walk to anywhere in the downtown business & tourist area from here. The rooms were a bit sparse and worn, but clean. I was worried not seeing any air conditoner in the window...the fans and open windows kept the temperatures comfortable. (I'd rather have the fresh cool night air over air-conditioning any day!) For the true traveller who just needs a clean, safe, no frills place to sleep at night, this hotel can't be beat in my opinion. If I ever return to Seattle and need a hotel, this will be my first choice.... I had to have a rental car for this trip..a garage was right across the street for safe, overnight parking, a rare find in downtown Seattle. You do not need a car in the city, avoid that headache at all costs.

I would recommend this hotel!
By ,
This hotel is not a fancy hotel, but if you are just looking for a basic place to sleep this hotel is perfect! Just remember to bring your own shampoo, soap, and towel. (They provide towels, but they are so small and thin that they don't dry you too well.) The rooms are small and pretty old and may need some updating, but the most important thing is that the rooms are very clean. I have stayed at this hotel twice already and staff is very friendly and helpful, and it is all about location, location, location. The hotel is about a 5 minute block from Pikes market and walking distance to downtown. The only negative about downtown seattle is that parking a headache. It's a hassle to keep feeding the meter and almost a waste of money to pay for a all day parking space when there are no in & out's.

Terrible Experience
By ,
The hotel was not clean, very old, hot (no A.C.)and in the worst part of town. Two policemen in town suggested we move to another hotel. We did. Never again will I stay at the Moore.
