Lacking in many areas...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/08
My fiance and I were on a ski trip and decided to take a day to rent the ice shack for some fishing. My first impression walking in there was the people made me very uncomfortable. The "dad" was drinking a bee at 10 am and was telling the "mom" to shut up. If that isn't offensive enough... The son who at first seemed very nice and helpful ended up fishing with us for half the day while insisting to tell us his life story. My fiance and I were RENTING the shack and there he was... bothing us for an extended 3 hour visit. We managed to catch 3 nice sized lake trout (our first lake trout at that) and when we went to leave, there was only ONE fish outside the shack. The family claimed there was a dog in oue of the cabins who must have came out and stole the 2 missing fish. Hard to beleive when it was -35 with a -50 wind chill. When we walked inside the house to pay for the rental shack, I wasn't too suprised to find them having a FISH FRY... with OUR FISH!!! The also then charged us for parking and the story-teller son then cornered my fiance and asked him if he could pay more money. We left as fast as we could. As nice as they seemed at first, they must have thought they were pretty clever taking advantage of the "flatlander city kids". We would never go back. The lake was wonderful but I would have nothing to do with the resort again. Sincerely, -Upset Trout Lake Visitor
