Caribou Lodge & Motel, Soda Springs

I stayed here actually back in 2000 when I was doing survey work. The motel was inexpensive and clean, and the owners friendly. I do remember the ceiling fan though, seemed like it was spinning faster than the blades of a 747, made me sleep with one eye open! All in all, nice little place.

I've been staying at the Caribou for a little over two weeks (here temporarily for my job) and I've really enjoyed my stay. Everything is very clean and the owners are very accommodating. My room has a small kitchenette (microwave, fridge, cupboards, sink, dishes) which has come in very handy, especially with a pretty good grocery store across the street. There is also free unsecured wireless internet from the hotel. My room is always neat and clean when I return at the end of the day and there are fresh towels. The only downside is thin walls - hunting season just started and I hear all my neighbors get up at 5am. Otherwise, I'm very pleased.

Being the owners of the Caribou Lodge and Motel, we do not understand how this information made it to this web site. Certainly we did not submit it. First of all, the room rate has not been $27 for over ten years. Secondly, the first reviewer mentions the great food and we DO NOT even have a restaurant. Is this some kind of cruel joke? We would like to get in touch with the web site administrator to supply correct information. We are writing this here in an effort to reach someone who is responsible.

I called to talk to my husband who was staying there and they gave me the wrong room. Then when I called back they rudly accussed me of giving them the wrong room number. They told me to hang on, which I did, for 10 mins on my dime. I finally hung up, called back, and got no answer. Apparently the must of left for the night. Thus I had no way to get in touch with my husband. It wasn't an extreme emergency, but importnat that I spoke with them. I felt they were very rude, and couldn't beleive they closed. This is a hotel after all. If they do close, there should be a way for people to get in touch with a room without going through the front desk. I am not very happy with the people at this hotel and plan on speaking to the owner once they open in the morning. Very Rude!!!
