Hotel Aura Near Connaught Place, Delhi

I dont know why it hot those good reviews. The food is just average. Service was so so. Some seats are very uncomfortable. The price was very high looking at the poor service and interior. For two of us taking a Kebab, two lassi, a dal and two nans, it came out to be around 4500 Rs (120 USD). And you dont expext them to put two different variety of nans in the same plate, on top of another. Too many waiters, standing randomly around the place. Just not a pleasant experience !! Avoid this place and rather go to Masala Art, The Taj palace.

While in Delhi this last November, we had the misfortune of dining at Boukhara restaurant, after having heard good things about it in some reviews. We thought that this restaurant,in the good old tradition of similar restaurants dealing with Frontier cuisine, like the one in Moghul Sheraton Agra (which is excellent),would do honour to this fine cooking and decided to go there. We were shocked how this restaurant is run like a fast food joint with awful and appalling cooking. For example, the Simla Mirch,was not Simla Mirch at all; uncooked from the oven even after two tries by the Chef. Simla Mirch is normally not an oven recipe.This brings shame to the Indian art of cooking which is being touted in this joint as genuine cuisine to unsuspecting and sometimes, ignorent foreigners. Like most of the restaurants in '5 Star' hotels in Delhi, this restaurant is to be avoided if you are looking for authentic Indian hospitality and cooking. The food prices for this mediocre fair were outrageous: A fast food type of place with an awkward, pompous and artificial atmosphere where the waiters are looking for you to leave as soon as they think you have finished the meal!!!

Great service, excellent dining, a good spa and a great ambience in the lobby. The room was comfortable, but was in need of a facelift! Key downside is that the room rate is fully priced.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful at all times. I at at the Pavilion and the Bhukhara plus had room service one evening. All food was excellent. You must have the DAL Bhukhara and the Butter Naan bread when dining at the Bhukhara. It is a meal in itself. Rooms were very average. Bedspread was showing wear as was most of the room. The bathtub used to be a whirlpool but all the jets were permanently plugged. Plumbing fixtures were showing a lot of age and the outlet in the bathroom for shavers was not working. I called for service and they came up promptly but couldn't fix. Repairman said he would come back the next day but didn't. Bed was very firm as reported by others in their reviews. Internet service was OK using Wi-Fi for 600 rupies per 24 hours. Common areas of hotel are very nice as is the health spa and fitness center. I would rate the hotel as nice for India but substandard rooms compared to most western hotels.

We had to wait a lot after we were through with our main course. One comes for exceptional service that is offered at Maurya's and if that is missing the entire charm fizzles out.

When you have you to be in Delhi...this is a quiet refuge that is extraordinary...great rooms...helpful staff...and good food...Will always come back here when traveling to Delhi

I cancelled my reservation and they still charged me. Extremly poor customer service. It took me 30 minutes to book a room and another 30 minutes to cancel the same reservation and I still got charged for it.

The services of this hotel were very dissapointing... the staff very rude and the facilities not availabe and the rooms were ok. really the food was not good at all. Please dont stay here even if mr clinton did. The hotel will not give u importance

The service was really excellent, gracious and professional, from the airport pickup, the welcome and handling small requests.As this was my first trip to India, the service was a relief and most appreciated My room was smallish, but completely redone...you could still smell the fresh paint. The hotel is very secure and the rooms are quiet. I could not get a reservation at Bukara, but ate in their other white table cloth restaurant. Service was highly refined and the dishes were expertly prepared. The location is OK. The positive is its near the airports..domestic and international. It's in a nicer part of town. On the negative, there is nothing near the hotel, nor can you take a stroll. On the other hand, I am not sure I would have wanted to stay closer to where "the action is" as it is so overwhelming to the senses. Overall, this is a most excellent property. Those who whine about it must be...whiners! Highly recommended.
