No complaints
By MaryC, 8/5/06
I was looking for inexpensive, but tolerable and it was far better than that. The people who ran the place were delightful. The room was comfortable. Everything worked fine. It was a little farther away from the action than some people might like, a good 6 blocks or so from the water. But we liked the walk. I will go back, without a doubt. MC

watch yourself!
By Victor, 7/13/07
This hotel's information is highly misleading. Yes, it is walking distance to the Falls, if you are in good shape and have 15 minutes. When we returned from the Falls, we noticed that our door had not been shut all the way, and all of our valuables could have been taken. When we complained, we were told "sorry" and that we were the ones that had left it open! We explained that the room had been cleaned since we left, but that menat nothing to the manager. He informed us that somebody would check on it. By the time it was checked, we had gotten the door shut, so the manager said, "no big problem now." I highly recommend that you do not stay here and if you must, be very vigilant about your stuff.

No Red Carpet Rolled Out for Me
By Daron, 8/16/05
It seems that they bought a couple of different old hotel buildings and gave it one name. So, some rooms may be different than the one I stayed in. True, the soap and shampoos are all from other hotels. The towels are too little and thin. The air conditioner is way too noisy. The place is rather run down. The last two blocks of the walk from the falls is very dark and feels unsafe. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to stay at a nice hotel near the falls.

Fun Times
By KimberlyR, 8/25/06
This place is good for the price. It DIDN"T smell and was clean, but it was out dated. There was a rip in the carpet, windows didn't lock, the bathroom door had a hole, the ceiling tile was falling down, and they provided used shampos and conditioners from other hotels. The walk to the falls was about three blocks down a road with houses and a run down factory that is getting re-modeled. It was scary the first night walking down the street in the dark, but after that it wasn't bad. The hotel really isn't as bad as it may come to sound. For the price, it was do-able. I would come back and stay there again. Overall Experiance for the entire trip ='s AWSOME!!!! **Nightmare's and Screamer haunted houses are a must do. Rumors night club was fun as well!! I loved everything!!

Not so great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/07
I stayed here in Fall 2007 and while I knew it wasn't going to be pricey and fancy it was pretty gross. We looked at 3 rooms before we found one that only faintly smelled of cigarette smoke. Every 5 or 10 minutes the water system did something weird like someone closeby had turned a tap on full blast for about 10secs (this happens 24/7 and is not fun when you have a medium-long length shower as it made the water suddenly boiling hot. We had no remote for the TV and the tiniest bath towels I've ever seen. There were bugs in the room and bathroom. The location is not bad to save some $$ but I would expect no frills for the price but not dirtiness and smelliness....

GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/06
We are a young couple 26 and 29 and are pretty easy to please but absolutely had to write this review after our stay to try and save more people from this place. Our room smelled awful as soon as we walked in, smelled musty and unclean....forcing us to buy 3 air fresheners at a corner store (10$ worth). We checked the soaps (which were from other hotels) and we found that both bars of soap were full of mold, so we threw them in the trash, however the next day after the "cleaning lady" came in she had put the same soaps from the trash right back onto the bathroom counter where they were originally. Had to kill a large bug in the bathroom as well. The wallpaper border was stapled to the wall, no alarm clock, and the carpets were filthy so we kept our shoes on even after stepping out of the shower. Air conditioner was turned off by the cleaning lady while we were gone, which was a necessity to circulate the air from our air fresheners. We had to wash both our bags of clothes when we got home, even stuff that we didn't wear cause they stunk like our room....cause the air fresheners didn't even work. Upon our arrival, as we were checking in, another couple was terribly upset at the state of their room and were asking for a refund to go to another place. I could go on forever, but after staying at this place we just had to warn others. I realize that this place is close to the falls and u can easily walk everywhere, but please please please save up some extra money and put it towards a nice hotel, this place is a dive. We didn't complain while we were there, we just stuck it out, but do yourselves a favour and don't do the same.

low-end
By Jon, 6/29/07
* within walking distance of the falls, however the walk does not always feel safe. * dark, shadowy neighborhood * not the cleanest rooms * front desk closes at night, so you can't use them for help or directions * about 5 channels on the TV * saw homeless people in the area * would not stay here again
