DO NOT STAY HERE
By ,
There was nothing to like about this place. Booked online thru hotels.ca as this seemed like an affordable place to stay. The second we arrived we new something was up. Hotel is located in a shady slummy area of the falls. We checked in and got our keys to the 2 rooms we had booked. When we got to our rooms we didn't even unload the car. Upon stepping into the room it smelled moldy and gross. Dirty carpet dirty floor dirty bathroom. They don't even have there own soap. All the soap and shampoo was from other hotels. Seems like they go thru the garbage to get soap from other places moldy and used shampoo bottles. Looked at the bed and sheets were dirty and stained. Even had hair on them prom previous people. This was in both rooms by the way not just one. Went straight to the front desk to get our money back and leave. When we did this they gave us our money back right away as if it happens all the time and i don't blame them. Mabye if they cleaned there rooms more people would stay and they wouldn't have to refund so many people. Do not stay here even if you are on a tight budget spend the extra $20 and stay at the Howard Johnston. Where you get good service clean rooms and are closer to the falls and attractions.

Not so great
By ,
I stayed here in Fall 2007 and while I knew it wasn't going to be pricey and fancy it was pretty gross. We looked at 3 rooms before we found one that only faintly smelled of cigarette smoke. Every 5 or 10 minutes the water system did something weird like someone closeby had turned a tap on full blast for about 10secs (this happens 24/7 and is not fun when you have a medium-long length shower as it made the water suddenly boiling hot. We had no remote for the TV and the tiniest bath towels I've ever seen. There were bugs in the room and bathroom. The location is not bad to save some $$ but I would expect no frills for the price but not dirtiness and smelliness....

watch yourself!
By ,
This hotel's information is highly misleading. Yes, it is walking distance to the Falls, if you are in good shape and have 15 minutes. When we returned from the Falls, we noticed that our door had not been shut all the way, and all of our valuables could have been taken. When we complained, we were told "sorry" and that we were the ones that had left it open! We explained that the room had been cleaned since we left, but that menat nothing to the manager. He informed us that somebody would check on it. By the time it was checked, we had gotten the door shut, so the manager said, "no big problem now." I highly recommend that you do not stay here and if you must, be very vigilant about your stuff.

Stay away if you have kids!!!!!
By ,
Oh my! where do I start. When we walked in the lobby at 2p.m. The coffee was still on the table from the morning. It was spilt all over the table cloth and dirty. You would think that one of the workers would of maybe cleaned it up.After we checked in we had to find our room .We were scard! In the pic. it showes a brick building,so you may think the rooms are in there well let me tell you we had to drive around to our room and enter from the outside. We opened the door and the stench filled our noses my children did'nt even want to walk in. The wall paper was falling off the walls the border was comming down. No wash clothes to take a shower with. The soap, powder, shampoo, lotion, all came from other hotels. 2 towels for 4 people. When we went to get into our bags they were wet.The floor was soaked and thats where we had our bags.On the first night when we got into bed I couldent stop laughing about how stupid this hotel is. They had a matress cover on the bed as a blanket. The second day we got up early to go to the falls. We got back to the hotel at 5:45 pm And the pool was closed. The pool closes daily at 6pm, yes! thats right, 6pm. My children were not happy! We had to go back to our room and watch our HUGE! 19in. color tv that snowed up every time we changed the chanel. Because of the holiday, that was the only place we could stay. If there was enough room I would of stayed in my car, but its not big enough for 4 people.

low-end
By ,
* within walking distance of the falls, however the walk does not always feel safe. * dark, shadowy neighborhood * not the cleanest rooms * front desk closes at night, so you can't use them for help or directions * about 5 channels on the TV * saw homeless people in the area * would not stay here again

\"They Say, See It For Yourself!\"
By ,
I reserved a room at this hotel and didn't think to read the reviews until afterwards because I was so excited about my trip to Niagara Falls..... It was very nasty. They people who wrote reviews before me were right on point. The part that bothered me the most was the VERY MOLDY SOAP. I can't even begin to explain how black the inside of soap boxes were. They sure did have plenty of soap, shampoo, but it was from any other hotel that you can name. The room was dirty and thank GOD I brought my own comforters and pillow cases because theirs were dirty and had hair all on them when u pulled the covers back. I too could go on and on about this hotel, but just believe us all when we say that it's no celebrity stay there. Just do you and your family a favor and spend the extra bucks for a better place, you'll appreciate it.

Fun Times
By ,
This place is good for the price. It DIDN"T smell and was clean, but it was out dated. There was a rip in the carpet, windows didn't lock, the bathroom door had a hole, the ceiling tile was falling down, and they provided used shampos and conditioners from other hotels. The walk to the falls was about three blocks down a road with houses and a run down factory that is getting re-modeled. It was scary the first night walking down the street in the dark, but after that it wasn't bad. The hotel really isn't as bad as it may come to sound. For the price, it was do-able. I would come back and stay there again. Overall Experiance for the entire trip ='s AWSOME!!!! **Nightmare's and Screamer haunted houses are a must do. Rumors night club was fun as well!! I loved everything!!

Bed Bugs Alert
By ,
The location was really good easy access to the falls. I didn't mind the 1980's tv with no remote or even the fact that all the shampoos were used and from different motels, and the water glass in the bathroom one of the tubs from the arcade you use to put your tokens in. What I did not like was the extreme infestation from bed bugs. I have 62 bites spread over 2 arms my husband has 53 bites all over his back and our friend has 28 bites, we believe she suffered less because she didn't sleep under the covers. With the other reviews for this motel I can only believe that they will not clean this room or worry that there are bed bugs. The room was 216 I dont know if any of the other rooms will have bed bugs as we got so many bites I believe the bed bugs have been there for awhile. Stay away from this Motel you wont be able to stand the itching or the look of the bites I look like i have the plague on my arms.
