Mellieha Bay Hotel, Masta

we went there for a family wedding, the food was the worst food in any hotel we have been too,we have been around the world twice, most of the wedding party fell ill with some food bug! even Asia i never got that ill & i wanted too go home after 3 days, we had a young child with us but the whole hotel was pushchair unfriendly with steps everywhere.

This is not a 4 star hotel. We were greeted with dead cockroaches, rust and half a ceiling hanging down. Food was revolting and the staff were too. Transfered to the Selmun Palace, which as its name suggests is both palatial and grand.

my favourite thing is the games room.I also like the kids club well really kids zone. All in all,the staff are very friendly.I like the food and the restaurant is really good.My mum loves the beautiful view over the bay and the pretty gardens,each time I go I always see a cameleon.

We have been to M.bay Hotel 6-7 times, 8 in June 2007. The accomodation is first rate, bedrooms needs up grading a little though, food 1st class & plenty of it,2 buffets so no waiting in queues, services in restaurant not to be at all critised. Pools, 6 in all,scattered & private beach relly good. Gardens & views superb, not another hotel near so very private. Internet service slow & pc's need up-grading, you spend a lot of money as slow to get connection. We always have a car as we feel is essential, hotel a little out of way but buses are regular & cheap. Staff in hotel really friendly & helpful. We would like to go in Sept again, cost permitting! This would be about 34th time I have visited this lovely isle since 1970, I do love Malta. Pat Connick Norwich England.

I have just ben to Malta for the first time (over Christmas). We all really enjoyed it, despite the weather (the last few days were awful-but OK till then). Hotel itself was lovely, shower fittings etc. could be more modern, but apart from that it was great. The entertainment was generally very good. We saw Julie James, a very good local female singer and a 'classical-style' male singer (cant remember their names). The only one we didn't like was the lady with the four backing dancer, that seemed very contrived and not particularly talented, especially compared to the others. Sergio and his trio were also very good. I would strongly recomend the organised tours. We did the Malta by night and the Gozo tour, and the daytrip to Sicily (expensive but fun). The first two were done by the same guide (Josette I think) who seemed to know a lot about the history of the islands, and was very friendly. Overall I would recomend this hotel, and would definitely recoment Malta. The people were very friendly (locals as well as staff) and Malta is a lovely country. I would love to go again, perhaps in the summer to do some watersports etc. (which can also be done at the hotel!).

I loved Malta anyway, and the MBH was just the icing on the cake!!! So professional, friendly and clean! Will definitely go back again soon!

The rooms were clean , with plenty of storage for belongings. Water was a little brown at times, nothing new there, but water in bathroom was always boiling hot. Some of the fittings, such as the shower could do with updating. The food overall was of a good standard, although smoked streaky bacon everyday and chicken sausages weren't very appealing, but the local bread was fab. You need a car if you want to go out and about, but if you just want to soak up the sun, you can lounge by the pool or by the sea and water sport activiities are available on site. Mellieha is a nice place to be based and we would recommend to anyone. We stayed at this hotel some years ago and had no hesitation about going back again, this time with son and granny. We have have stayed in the Mellieha area every time we have visited Malta and love the area.

The food is lovely, really good choice even for our fussy 15 year old. Love the bowling so much our 15 year old now bowls in the welsh under 16 team. Got started at the hotel 4 years ago.We have made lots of good friends and meet them every year here.The hotel is being re vamped which it does need, but it cant be done overnight,so each time we return parts have been done. We enjoy the mad bus rides, history of the island and the really friendly people. The hotel is an excellent base to travel around or stay in and enjoy the acctivities. We love it.

This Hotel Rocks ! I like the ober Mario.He is so Nice and Cool.Love him and the hotel.The hotel was clean and Childfriendly.Iam thirtheen and they were very nice.The rooms are very Chearfull.The food was nice,You had a lot of choice that was nice.

we absolutely love the location of this hotel it is so pretty and tranquil.the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful.the bedrooms could do with a facelift though.
