Days Inn Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach

ROACHES EVERYWHERE, IT CAME OUT 1 AT A TIME. WE KILLED MOST.

We booked for our 2nd Ann. Great big room better than the pic. We did not want to be disturbed so every day the Housekeeping dept left a bag of clean linens on our door. The room we had 262 had a kitchen in it - small 4 burner stove, fridge, microwave, dishes, pots and pans & a table with 2 chairs. It was great a quick trip to piblix and we saved more money than we thought it was close to the beach but DONT DONT DONT even go into the Shoney's next door. YUCKKKKKKKKKKK and dirty. We stayed 4 days and it was under 300.00. We will go back

it was unsanitary. Two large,stinky, dirty socks were found in bed with us the next morning. Obviously there had been no housekeeping. We planned on staying a couple more nights, but moved out. We won't go back.

We stayed 4 nights in late July '05 and had no problems whatsoever. GREAT location, about a 3 minute walk from the main beach access. Staff was very friendly... we arrived at about 11am the day we were supposed to check in, and (although check-in time was 4pm) the clerk at the desk allowed us to check in then so we could get started with our vacation. The room was clean when we got there and was kept up by hotel staff every day. Amenities in the room were great, though we had to go get extra towels once (there were 4 of us). The beds weren't great but they were about as good as you'd expect a hotel bed to be. The pool was very large and kept about as clean as one would expect. Yes there was sand in the bottom as one reviewer stated. In case that reviewer hadn't noticed... it's a block from a BEACH. Practically every person who stays in that hotel goes to the beach, and when they come back many of them hop in the pool to clean off before going to their rooms, even through there's a shower right there. It would be absolutely impossible to not have to sand in the pool. The sports bar was very nice, and the Shoney's attached to the building was GREAT, very convenient and great food. Continental breakfast was definately nothing to write home about, but who can complain about FREE food? GREAT hotel!

This hotel has great access to the beach but the rooms were grungy. The tub was dirty and needed re-grouting. There was peeling paint in the room and while the pool was large, it had sand all over the bottom and needed chlorine. The bed was hard as a rock and the springs kept on digging in to my back. All in all the hotel felt a little tired-if cleaned up it would be a great value for your $$$.

We stayed 2 night with a pet and had no problems. Our room was clean when we arrived and taken care of the next day aswell. The pool and spa was fantasic and large areas of grass to walk our dog. We walked our dog to the beach and had a great time. Dairy Queen across the street was very good. Shoneys attached to BW was not and the coffee in room was not great either. Never made it inside to get free breakfast or coffee. We enjoyed our experience and plan to go back again.

Overall good. The night we checked in we had to change 3 rooms. Desk clerk Russo was very helpful
