old beauty of the romantic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/08
beautiful old spanish buildings of art nouveau or 'noucenista' period of art and architecture. filled with art and old furniture, and without TV or air con but full of european class and elegance. stunning gardens for buffet breakfast with wide selection of cereals, fresh fruits, bread, rolls, cheeses, meat, coffee and tea to your table. reception friendly, staff always happy to help and cheerful, and to tart up your Spanish! best rooms with balcony over gardens and to avoid attic or roof rooms due to heat in summer, but all other rooms cool due to height, elegant french doors and plantation shutters and elegant air fans.
if you want romantic cultured old Spain of traders houses and palm covered gardens, old colonial style cocktails in same bar, then this is your venue.
if you want TV and satelite and glitzy co-ordinating tie backs and cushions, full width mirrors and a power shower this isnt your venue. But if pure class and an artistic gem of Spain is, then this is your hotel. In town, but off the main noisy route, and minutes to beach, and short walk to station. very gay friendly and welcomes families. a great place if fancy a trip on your own with a book, to make friends, or to come with friends or as a couple. always a warm welcome...
