Disappointed in Greensboro
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/9/07
When I travel for business, I always stay in a Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn (both are great franchises) but our recent stay was pretty disappointing to say the least. The room was not so bad, a bit crowded like the other review mentioned, but nothing that we couldnt live with. There was no High Speed Internet access (but it was advertised) like there has always been in the previous Hilton family hotels that Ive stayed in. The recliner was a nice touch and my husband really liked that feature, however, the bathroom was disgusting.
There was some sort of residue on the side of the door that faces the inside of the bathroom, as if something had been spilled on it and not wiped down for years. The wallpaper was peeling next to the floor near the toilet, and there was quite a bit of black moldy-like stains in the floor tiles. The on / off handle for the shower had a homemade label to show which way was hot and which way was cold.
I will continue to stay with Hampton Inns and Hilton Garden Inns for business, but will insist that I look at the room before I have the room charged to my credit card.
