Way Overated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/08
I requested a room with a deck, 6 months in advance. When i got there,i ended up with a room near the parking lot entrance.People were in and out all night long esp on the weekend. I also asked of they had wifi, and was assured by a staff member that they did. When i went to use it,you guessed it... no such thing. I also found the staff preoccupied . The heater was awful ,either to hot or to cold. The building looks inviting from the outside and is right on the bay . Just being honest

Attended a Wedding Reception
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/07
The Bay Voyage Inn was clean, and the hor d’oeuvres were decent, but the main meal was a bit plain, even for a wedding reception. We had Baked Stuffed Shrimp, which contained 3 oversized-overstuffed Shrimp with Crabmeat, which we a bit lacking in spices and some of those served at our table were cold. Others had pork tenderloins that were noted as dry. Bar Service was good, but the drinks that were paid for were extremely overpriced. Also, two single shots of Sambucca ran $16 (extravagant in price). You’re paying for location, not necessarily quality. The Inn caters to receptions and large parties due to the view of the water and Newport Bridge. The dinner menu that I glanced at was pricey and sparse. There are many many other good restaurants in the area that you can eat at if you want to pay the same Bay Voyage Inn prices. Also, the restrooms were on the ground floor (3 floors down from the dining room) and were accessible either from the stairs or elevator. However, there is a health club on that floor and the entire wing smells like chlorine.

Fantastic View
By Darren, 06/30/07
We had the best view and the largest deck from which to enjoy it. The only down side was not having a complete kitchen. It was nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. It is in need of slight repairs if you look closely, but did not interfere with our enjoyment.

A Time Share, Not a True Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/07
The Bay Voyage is an all-suite establishment, which essentially means two minuscule rooms. The bedroom has a TV on a dresser at the foot of the bed, and to get past the TV to get to the window side of the bed one literally has to squeeze sideways past it. This place charges hotel prices (we paid $176 a night mid-week the week before Memorial Day 2007) but lacks hotel service. It is set up to serve time-share guests. For example: there is no daily maid service. The hotel doesn't serve breakfast. The "common room" where they lay out a basket of muffins and a pot of coffee in the AM is often used for staff meetings and other hotel staff chores, so guests don't feel like they have the use of it. There is no internet access. None. It would be one thing at the alleged $85 a night I see on this site but at $176 before the summer season, there are many other better options.

We were thrilled!
By Erin R, 09/14/06
A friend and I stayed here while taking a road trip through New England. Since we only stayed in one place for a day or two, we stayed in many hotels but this one was the best! Very cute and comfortable inside and out. They are rennovating the rooms--our room had a brand new kitchenette. One of the tvs was old, but who watches tv on vacation? Perfect location to Newport with an amazing view of the bridge and bay. The staff was friendly and even gave us a bargain rate after some chit chat. We loved it! I would recommend to anyone staying in this area!

Go for the view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/05
I took a friend out to brunch on a beatiful October day. We sat outside, and the view was beautiful. The food and service were good, but the egg benedict I had was cold, as was a fish dish I had. The benedict and fish were both sitting in open containers with heat on the bottom, but with no lids, so how are these things supposed to stay warm? This was really surprising to me, since their brunch is so popular. Overall, I'd say this brunch was way overpriced -- the bill for my friend and I was $100 before tip. We each had two drinks, which was really the killer, but I don't think women with average appetites would ever come close to getting their money's worth out of this brunch. I don't think I'll go back, despite the view.

Very clean, friendly staff, good food, breakfast was great looking out over the bay. Near attractions, but far enough away from the traffic and noise. My wife & I can not wait to go back.
