Basic Confort
By jason reimer, 5/9/11
Called the front desk when I arrived in San Diego. Rode a taxi back to the hotel from the train station which the motel paid for. Check in was quicly done with me in room on the bottom leval in about ten minutes. The wi-fi was a breeze to connect to with great speed. Had great connections to around the city with being on a main street of San Diego and the trolly only two blocks away. Also many choices for meal being in the area. The only thing about this hotel that could be made better is a better selection of channels on the TV. Great front end staff that made the stay even better. One night when there wi-fi was having promble with my laptop they let me plug a internet cable into my computer in the lobby. A great place for about seventy dollers a night that is close to downtown.

nasty hotel experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/10
this hotel is awful and no one should ever stay there. there was fecal matter on the wall of the bathroom and a roach in the bed. it should be considered when you go to stay there.

Filthy! Dirty rooms.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/09
Walked into the room and the sink and counter in bathroom had to be wiped down. Shower curtain moldy. Carpets made your feet black. Train noise was horrible. Charged me for the full stay even though I checked out a day early because of the filth. Won't refund my money.

Be careful!
By Big Lou, 7/10/08
The train sounded like it was just in the other room. Does Burlington Northern RR have it in for Days Inn? The toilet seat was barely hanging on by just one bolt. The towel bar was pulled out from the wall and in danger of falling off. The last morning we were there, I dropped a coin and it rolled under the bed.... Oh, My Gawd....There is an entire Eco-System living under there! However, the Flat Screen TV was great!

Not as good as some reviews say
By perfectionist, 1/2/06
Likes: - Walking distance to Gas Lamp District - Close to San Diego Downtown - 2 freeway exits from Old Town tourist area - Didn't overdo the formaldehyde in the bed sheets - Only 1 mile from San Diego airport - 4 blocks from I-5 - Good network access (although wireless isn't as good) - Decent clean rooms with essential things kept up well Dislikes: - Train was tooting its horn at 12:30 at night .. thanks a lot for walking me up! - Poor insulation. I could hear my next room neighbors clearly and people talking on the balcony/walkways upstairs - Hotel staff mostly did good a job, except when it came to keeping the some of the guests from getting noisy and rowdy around New Year's morning - Road noise from the main street Comments: - Costs more than the Motel 6 a couple of blocks away, but the value might not be as good - Might spring for the much more expensive Residence Inn to see how that is the next time I am in the area
