Not worth the stay
By ,
When I booked our rooms the picture of the motel looks totally different from the actual thing. Rooms are deceiving, the rooms are very old looking, carpet very dirty. Only able to watch limited channels. Compact car parking. We booked two rooms with double beds and landed up with a king, and double bed. The only benefit with this motel is close location to the beach and seaworld. But there are so many motels around, you can find something better. Very disappointed for our first time in San Diego.

I guess you get what you pay for...

I'm not sure where to even begin with this hotel. The pictures really are VERY deceiving! I noticed that the hotel claimed to have been remodeled in 2004 (or maybe it was 2006). I think they forgot to do the room we stayed in. When we first pulled into the area, the first thing I noticed was a few strip clubs. GREAT! (and when I say great I mean this really isn't a family friendly area) It's hard to know what an area is going to be like when you're coming from out of town, but after a few minutes we realized we were not in a very nice neighborhood. As far as being centrally located to what we wanted (sea world and the beach) the location was good, but I'd still rather drive a longer distance than be surrounded by a couple strip clubs. We pulled into the hotel and got checked in, then proceeded to our room. The parking is absolutely ridiculous! The spaces are small and the lane in which you drive down is really only wide enough for one car (like a prius). So if your driving a Tahoe or a Suburban like vehicle, good luck getting that thing parked if the parking lot is near capacity. All my fears came true when we opened the door to the place where we were going to stay for the next three nights. The room smelled horrible! The furniture had stains and looked as though they found the stuff at some throw away garage sale down the street. The carpet was horrendous - nobody in our group walked on the floor in their bare feet. We all either wore socks or shoes. I just felt dirty walking into the room. The bathroom (I think when they mentioned remodel, they may have meant putting down some tile in the bathroom - and called it a remodel) looked dirty and the tub looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a few years. The service was tolerable at best. There was really no happy greeting, you could tell that "it was their job and they'd rather be elsewhere doing something fun with their friends." When I went to the front counter and asked for an extra blanket and an extra pillow, the only thing they could offer me was a sheet, A SHEET!??! The value, well I gave value full marks because, well - it was 120.00 a night, but then again, I guess you get what you pay for. Buyer Beware!!! After staying at the Embassy Suites Anaheim South for five days it was hard not to wonder where I went wrong with the second half of our hotel vacation. I would not recommend this hotel at all!

Wouldn't stay again
By ,
They were nice however the place is in pretty bad condition. It was just generally dirty & in disrepair. The AC didn't work properly. It dripped on the bed under it. The room was a suite. The only place to place the pack'n play was on the wall under the ac unit that served both rooms. It dripped on our granddaughter too. It made a horrible racket. They did come & "fix" it. However, in the middle of the night it started again. It was conveniently located to many locations. We were going to the zoo & found it quite easily. The area surrounding it were less than desirable also. Parking was awful. They were sprucing up the outside and had many parking spaces taken up with equipment. While sprucing up the outside is a good thing, they would be better off sprucing up the rooms. We would definately not stay here again.

Somethings were good, others were not.
By ,
When I arrived I was surprised to find out that I had to have my Debit Card with me. Eventhough they straightend it out I had to use my food money to pay a $50 deposit which I did get back. Worse the Air Conditioner was busted and I had to spend the weekend waking up very hot. The Shuttle service and Breakfast was good, but it somewhat make's up for the emmbarsment I had at check in. The Price was pretty good, but still for the price I paid I should'nt have to spend even one night roasting. If I do indeed come back I don't want to go through the same routine again.

horrible, never will i EVER stay here again!!!
By ,
Hi i need the contact number to a corporate office or someone who can attend to my complaint... on sunday august 9th , 2009 we arrived to our room.. as we entered we entered a room with other persons belongingS.. including very personal items, i directed myself to the front office and Tasha, assigned me to an other room... it was occupied by another family..( gave us keys to both roomS) finally they decide to move us to the only room they had... (when we had our room reserved since week prior to arrival!) a room i will never forget,,,, smelly , dirty, and worst of all the ac did not work... its was so hot!!! they kept us there for two hours sending the mainteneance man back and forth finally he decided the ac wasnt working and TOLD US THE AC had been having problems for the past days, HOW KINDLY THEY OFERED A fan!! LOL...... he mentioned that theRE was a room UNocupied because some one left cause it was dirty,, he mentioned we can go check out the difference in quality and in the coldness of the ac... by this time i was already very, extremely tired and fustrated, i told them i would take the room,sPECIALLY CAUSE MY TWO CHILDREN WERE VERY EXHUASTED AND MOODY CAUSE OF ALL THE MOVING AROUND..PLUS THE HEAT!! and for the third time WE move my luggage again...long story short i had a horrible experience in this hotel, the promise stated that you provide comfort TO YOUR CUSTOMERS and all this balony was not at all true..i really need to talk to someone befor i go to the better business... to top it off i talk to mark on monday morning the 10th of august, 2009 concerning this matter, he said " the best i can do for an ac not working is give you 10% off your room rate...it is not about the ac,, it was the inconvienience and moving around and uncomfortableness my family experienced...horrible! I want someone to explain why this happened.. money means nothing i would pay the full amount of my stay, but, should i ??? i need some answers...Ps also a soon as WE WOKE UP MODAY MORNING my son noticed he had bug bites.....took him asap to the docs,, and yup,,, he got them from this hotel's room... plEASE someone contact me, befor i tAke this futhure... thank you dearly.. I hope I never go back!
By ,
This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in and im not exaggerating. I payed for a 2 bed suite and for the same price I got a 1 bed normal room. The hotel smelled aweful. All appliances in room didnt work. The sheets smelled. The AC blew like a fan with hot air. And all of this would have been ok if I had gotten to take a shower, but the shower only gave cold water in the winter! Waste of $130. Please dont show up.

AWESOME SHUTTLE DRIVERS
WE STAYED HERE APRIL 1-5. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND THE SHUTTLE DRIVERS WERE SO NICE AND HAD LOTS OF INFO TO SHARE WITH US ABOUT THE PLACES WE WERE SEEING. THE BREAKFASTS WERE ALSO A HUGE BONUS. THE ROOMS WERE DIRTY AND THE CARPETS WERE AWFUL...BUT THE DRIVERS AND LOCATION MADE UP FOR ALL THAT.

Great find
By ,
The breakfast is great, eggs, pancakes, coffe, ect...Loved the pool and hot tub- wish they kept towels down by the pool. Our toilet had a problem, they brought us the key to a nearby room to use the facilities while they took care of getting us into another room(Sunday, no maitenance). It was great to have on site washer and dryers to use. Will definitly tell our friends about it.

Great Staff!! Staff was friendly!
By ,
Nicer hotel than it looks on the outside! Was there for business in Point Loma. Outside looks like a typical Days Inn...nothing too special. However, my room was great! A small kind of suite. The bed was great! Ashlee at the desk was great and sent us to the Mexican restaurant next to the hotel. Great food! The pool in the back area didn't get much sun. That said it was busy and everyone was having a great time! The breakfast was free. Overall, for $99 I felt like I was treated well and got more tahn my money's worth!
