Cute and Cheap
By Andrew, 09/08/09
I stayed here one night and thought it was great for the price. There's not much to complain about except the fact that this place has not had in update in probably 20 years and it shows. However, besides the dated accommodations, it was clean and comfortable and felt relatively safe.

I love this place
By Sagebrush Kid, 07/04/07
This is a great place. built in 1941. It has some period drawbacks; it smells kind of old, it doesn't have individual climate control, there are no room phones, there are no 10,000 channels of cable, the bathroom is horribly, horribly small. OK, now that I've frightened away the squeamish, you've GOT to stay here. The grounds and garden are out of this world. The 1940s decor and design are something you'll never see if you stay with Best Western. The pool is great, it's quiet. This is how America used to travel and you know what? It's nice. It's peaceful. It's relaxing. Do what we did and stop early in the day. Sit in the garden and enjoy. Stop at the grocery and buy some charcoal and a couple of steaks and some beer and ENJOY YOURSELF. What a great place.

Planning my 4th stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/07
I initially stayed there a year or so ago (when my parents moved to Jackson) because it was inexpensive but I keep coming back because it's charming and I have all I need. Yes, the rooms offer no real amenities, but the beds are comfortable, the TV works and there is a coffee maker. The rooms, including the tiny bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. No phone, but who doesn't have a cell phone?!. The grounds are beautiful with rolling hills, oaks, and pasture land beyond. I could stay at more expensive places but I really prefer El Campo Casa.

Can't get sleep here
By Julie, 10/05/06
At the last minute we decided to drive up to Jackson without making any reservations. We had to check into El Campo Casa because the casino was booked. Our room #7 is small. Bed too hard. Bathroom is a closet and I am a tiny person 5'1". But the worse part was being woken by the older bicycle riders EARLY in the morning!!! The next morning we walked the grounds of the motel and discovered there are rooms off of the highway too. First place I've been to in a LONG time in which there were no remote controls for the TV.

Bad experience
By , 02/18/06
This motel houses semi-handicapped people. We loved the look and grounds, the pool was wonderful, gardens, beautiful. The owner did not like anyone to disturb his perminate guests, with any of the typical family play in the pool, discouraged the use of the beautiful patios for having fun, laughing and being a bit noisy. We are sorry we went there. The staff seemed put-out by us.
