Budget motel

My wife and I stayed at this location recently. The best I can say about this place is that it is adequate and works as a budget motel. As long as you are aware that it is a budget motel, and not expecting much more, then this place will work for you for a night or two. The rooms were in average condition; however cleanliness could be a little better, as well as general building repair (remnants of water damage on the wall). The motel does include a “basic” continental breakfast, which is adequate. The train noise form the nearby railroad track is not too bad, as the nearest grade crossing is about a quarter mile away; however that being said, expect one to two trains every hour passing by on average.

Never again!

Made reservations a month in advance at Econo Lodge 1938 Moore Rd., Matthews, NC for 4 rooms together on 1st floor (1 handicap). When we got there rooms wers scattered & no handicap room was listed on reservation. Rooms were dirty & plumbing not working right. Other rooms given were acceptable, but still scattered. Reservations were made for our return trip, 10 days later. We were running late and called to make sure our reservations were ready. We were told rooms were waiting. Upon arrival we were told there was only 1 room available. Staff was unfriendly and we had to find another hotel. We've used this hotel in the past, but never again. I will advise my friends of the terrible treatment we received here. In fact, I don't think I will be staying at any Econo Lodge.
