Chanticleer Inn, Ashland

Positives: The hosts were very nice The food was quite good They do provide a WiFi connection (though at times it was a little slow) The location was close enough to walk to everything, and also close to hiking in the hills Negatives: The bathroom was small Being a two-story building, there are noises from other rooms and the kitchen I would stay there again, though I would also consider other options.

We have been to Ashland many, many times over the years and the Chanticleer Inn is far and away the best place we have stayed! The rooms and environs are comfortable and tastefully decorated, the food is excellent and the hosts are delightful and full of stories. The location of the inn is ideal: quiet and yet a pleasent stroll to Shakespeare and shops. From the gardens to the coffee and cookies, every last detail was attended to with the skill of innkeepers that clearly enjoy having repeat guests. We'll be making the Ashland at the Chanticleer an annual tradition!

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Chanticleer. The inn's rooms provide a sense of privacy while also creating a feeling of home away from home. The hosts, Ellen and Howie, are fabulous. Their love of inn keeping shows in the exemplary service they provide for their guests. We felt like family! Location is wonderful. And the gardens in spring are beautiful! We'll be back!

Our hosts combined all the features we would hope to find in a B&B and excelled in every aspect. They deserve all the stars in the firmament!
