Anchor Bay Inn, Reedsport

This was by far the strangest, scariest motel I've ever stayed at. Found it by accident, tired, driving down 101, and was met at the desk by what seemed like an extremely friendly, welcoming couple (the owners). It all went downhill from there... We started doing our little 2 loads of laundry at 8:30 - followed by 5 phone calls from the wife and several door visits by her as well, advising us we'd started too late to meet the 9:30p laundry deadline. She made us take half of our clothes out of the washer at one point (had to stomp/rinse in the bathtub and hang up to dry). She harangued us for 2 hours - there are no words. Then, to top off the visit, the husband walked right into the room while I was in it, no knock, the following morning (while my husband was at the laundromat, since there was no WAY we were going to risk using their facilities again). Thank God I was dressed. SCARY... like a bad bad movie. Strange people aside, there were NO electrical outlets - couldn't use a hairdryer, an electronic toothbrush, nothing. And the noise from HWY 101 was unrelenting. Oh, and the continental breakfast they promise you... it never showed up. Bottom line, for your safety, DON'T GO. PERIOD.

Second level walkway cracked and patched cement; looked unsafe. Exterior needs paint. Roomed smelled old and stale. No MW, frig, hairdryer, or alarm clock. Skimpy breakfast not served until 7:30. Overheard a fellow customer say they serve breakfast after everyone's gone. Small dry pastries (one allowed); reprimanded for taking two instead of one when one was a small packaged brownie. Is located on main road, so noisy at times.

Nice Comfy Place Just like Home. Visiting Oregon for the 1st time this is the place to stay!

The room was clean, comfortable, and a little larger than most motels. The owners were friendly and helpful. Our room also had a fridge and microwave. It was a great deal for the money, and we would definitely go back.
